If you walk around hand in hand with your partner, most people don't care or might only look at you like "whaaat?". Plus, the government doesn't do anything to protect gay rights. We do have gay marriage, but it seems like the government is trying to take it away from us again. Overall, I think it's a good place to be gay though. Vienna's LGBT campaign and Conchita Wurst's win at the ESC has done a lot for the shift in mind of the people (at least in Vienna).
