I read that Germany dropped because violence against LGBT people has increased and that they don't have any modern legislation for trans- and intersex people. Is it not true?

Then if I remember correctly, even though Germany has same sex marriage, Merkel is against it

As someone who lives in Canada, I am kind of surprised. I live in a big city but even now, I can sometimes sense homophobia from people. This also depends on what neighborhood I am in, unfortunately. 

I am not saying its horrible but as someone who has lived here their whole life, I do still feel we have a lot to improve on and It really surprises me that we are #1 in this list. 

It saddens me to say this but there is still A LOT of hidden homophobia in Canada. People will secretly judge you because LGBT people are a very protected group of people who do have some influence and power in certain scenarios.

I mean violence has risen in some specific districts such as Neukölln or Wedding in Berlin in Germany, but in almost all other places it’s safe  

its true about the laws about trans and inter Person though. 

And merkel used to be against is, but doesn’t really care about gay marriage considering she pathed the way for it

You say we can feel safe here, I have been threatened for being gay. All countries have dangerous or risky areas for LGBT people

Well okay, there are certain areas that are not very safe for gay people. But in Poland pretty much whole country is like that. I don't want to take anything from your bad experiences, but I still think UK is more friendly overall. 

I live in capital of Poland, yet I was attacked at least 3/4 times within last 3 years, and every day I have to deal with obnoxious people.

There's ppl here in Canada (especially immigrants from religious Countries) that do not support LGBT

 

Although they usually aren't vocal about it. I can't remember the last time I heard someone say something homophobic in person

I recently was at a pride event here in Canada and there were like 200 people supporting pride and like 6 protesters. It was awesome to see so many people out for LGBTQ2+ and so few protestors, it may not be perfect but we are so lucky to live in this country

Rural Alberta and rural NB are probably the two MOST homophobic parts of the country. You're right, there is definitely more anti-gay sentiment there but the major cities are very accepting (MTL, Ottawa, TO, Halifax, Calgary [somewhat] Vancouver, Edmonton). East coast and central are the most accepting, then Vancouver. Rural Ontario/Manitoba/Alberta are very isolated and late-to-the-game on progressive politics. They are still legally obligated to treat lgbtq people well but I have experienced discrimination and toxic rhetoric in those highly conservative areas. They are definitely the minority though.
