Portugal has for example made great improvements for trans- and intersex people which made them climb that high on the list and the US dropped because of Trump Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another

Although I must admit, I'm not super familiar with how the LGBT community is treated/perceived there. Anyone have any info/personal experience on the subject? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Malta?wprov=sfla1 Personal experience (source: am Maltese), most people don't care about your sexuality and most won't say anything. Maybe you might get an odd look here and there but otherwise it's as easy as being straight. This has only been true since a change to a more progressive government in 2013 which enjoys unprecedented support up to this day. We can also adopt kids as gay couples, get married, trans people can simply change their ID by filling in a form with no fuss.

It's an extremely small country so there aren't any gay bars and I didn't see any gay couples walking around. In general I had the impression that there's hardly any gay culture. But since it's such a small country, it's also a peaceful people and from what I've heard, gay rights are well protected there.

I can't remember the last time I heard someone say something homophobic in person I'd argue that people in rural areas of Canada are much more homophobic or at least more vocal about it then immigrants from religious countries tbh. In my experience there I have only heard homophobic / anti gay comments when I went to the country side in Alberta and when I went to the country side in New Brunswick sadly.
