True it's technically being ranked apart so I'll edit that

That can be said in every nation still

There's ppl here in Canada (especially immigrants from religious Countries) that do not support LGBT

Although they usually aren't vocal about it. I can't remember the last time I heard someone say something homophobic in person

I barely hear homophobic stuff in person but that's mostly because I mostly socialize in alternative environments. Last time I heard something truly homophobic in person was maybe last summer. In fact the most homophobic comments I get are from Grindr. That doesn't mean my city isn't full of homophobia, because it is, just pointing out it seems like it's not civic to express it in most public spaces at least for now

If I remember correctly, the largest ethnic group is of African and Malagasy descent

If the largest ethnic group was European then I'd understand why you'd categorise them together

My area (south-west England) is really unaccepting

The words f*ggot and p*of are thrown around like nobody's business and they get unpunished at school

At my school a student is more likely to be punished for calling a teacher an ass than calling a gay person a f*g

Yeah southwest isn’t so great, especially if you just stand out (whether you’re lgbt or not) - people don’t seem to like that and even the cities in SW are the same. I just put it down to people generally being quite backwards and a few years behind down this way.

Yeah the southwest is super conservative, traditional and prejudiced.

It doesn't help that there's a thriving criminal scene where I live so people are just generally horrible.

Dutch

We the Dutch were once #1 for a long time and by a huge gap, but things aren't really moving fast forward anymore sadly. Still great to see us on the list of course, and I'm still privileged and blessed to be born in a country like this.
