I thinks it’s because it’s actually very unique...the entire hip-hop/electronic influenced production combined with her voice is like no other album I’ve heard. It manages to be fun and catchy but also very dark and serious with crazy good lyrics. I love it! Thank u for this Most of the people don't know that the album is a mix of real instruments, and hip hop sound and that's what makes it a masterpiece for me... Lana is truly phenomenal

To me, it feels like she was trying too hard to write a somber song that romanticises sadness. I mean I still enjoy the album, but in comparison to her other work, BTD is far from being a masterpiece to me. I'm sure behind that line there's a deep meaning.. And i find it melancholic not cheesy..
littlepotter 75,142
It's my least favorite album of hers. Doesn't change the fact that it's still one of the best albums ever, she's just that good. chaeri pls

Maleficent 6
Lust For Life is a masterpiece IMO. Especially the holy trinity of Herion-Change-Get Free that close the album
Sneaky Oliver 22,178
YES but i don’t listen to it as often as the others. UV-LFL Lana grew on me so much through the years, so BTD sounds dated compared to her newest releases I have to say that Blue Jeans became my fave after all these years. It used to be National Anthem or Summertime Sadness back in a day also special shoutout to Without You it never gets old

Smother Em Eh 7,129
I haven’t listened to the album in full, but I have heard many of them and it is magical. The way her vocals blend with the instrumentals is quite pleasing and intriguing. I wanna start getting into Lana more so I’m gonna try and listen to all of her albums in full.
