She’s on American Idol, which was even the wrong choice. Kelly Clarkson has been making a big comeback since being on The Voice. Katy has just her cute pop songs to fall back on. If those aren’t working, than that’s about it. She’s still a wealthy woman and can tour for years on that! It’s not like she’s going to be put out on the streets, lol. Every point you make is very true, and just like ARTPOP, I would assume Katy fans consider Witness a hidden gem and a cult favorite. I feel like lows are okay because the make the highs even higher. Sure ARTPOP wasn’t as successful as expected but I believe that so-called “low point” for some helped her comeback with the super bowl halftime show and ASIB to be that much more climactic. But can we expect something out of the box from Katy in the upcoming years? It's hard not to compare to Gaga and what she had to do to rebuild her career to where she currently is.
