Bernie has made it clear on numerous occasions that he understands and respects this principle; he has done it many times in many situations regarding many problematic people and actions. So, it follows that he is not afraid of the word, or the reaction to the word, like many people would be. It seems he has a more strategic reasoning for not, not an ideological deficiency or whatever. So, this doesn't really make my impression of him waver much politically. I don't see this as him being weak on dictatorships or authoritarianism or any bs like that because he's the furthest from it. The optics may not work out for him in the long run though, as I'm sure this will be used by the Right to call him... any and everything under the sun.
