I have yet to hear this song, and now I’m curious after reading all the acclaim here (but can’t presently listen because it’s 5 am and my boyfriend is asleep next to me). :messga:

Anyway, does it sound similar to her older work (I.e., pre-Witness) at all? I can always use a good new pop song!

I think something went wrong with pop girls lately like Katy, lorde, Madonna.. It seems like people can't take them seriously anymore or maybe they're bored of their music i don't know..

But all i know is that Pop music really needs a huge revolution ..something fresh and new

well we have Ariana making waves now

I’m not surprised 365 is flopping. Katy hasn’t done anything new or interesting to stay relevant and fresh in the public’s eyes. I will be honest and say I’m not her biggest fan but I literally find her the anti-Gaga. Whereas Gaga cares a lot about the artistic process and takes her work very seriously and isn’t afraid to take risks, Katy doesn’t do any of that. Her lyrics are also generic and all her songs are solely made to be #1 it seems and it lacks authenticity.

365 even in terms of a “fun, dance, pop song” is still very mediocre and you can tell the production and lyrics are just not amazing. Like if you listen to Gaga’s or even Taylor Swifts music, you can tell right away the production and lyrics sound and feel different.

Im not throwing shade at Katy but she really needs to evolve and challenge herself if she wants to have success in the future.

With Katy being on Idol I'm sure she'll perform it live at least once.

But with the video already out I don't know what kinda impact any performance will do...

It's not even a bad song. I'm not really into Katy's music but I did quite like it (even though I felt it was a very generic beat). It seems people just like Urban infused "pop" music atm which is one reason why Ariana is doing well.
