PunkTheFunk 123,755
I don't know if this photo has been posted here since last night, but I saw it on TheAtlantic.com and was absolutely taken by it Here's the accompanying article: Why That Oscars Performance of ‘Shallow’ Was So Stunning ...Neither Gaga nor Cooper won Oscars for acting on Sunday, but they absolutely did the most acting of anyone at the ceremony. Cooper’s singing voice is less an instrument than a character, one that’s unsteady yet handsome, Jackson Maine writ small. His greater power, on Sunday, was in his mannerisms. As “Shallow” reached its full froth, he bolted up and moved the mic stand aside almost violently. But then he sat beside Gaga and nuzzled her with a kind of equine gentleness. In her fluttering lashes and curt finger stabs, Gaga meanwhile conveyed tamped-down, love-struck panic, as if feeling and professionalism were in a duel. The fabulous feral rage that marked her Grammys take on “Shallow” was hidden in this fancier venue, but definitely not forgotten. Indeed, the contrast between her growling in a jeweled body suit earlier this month and playing piano in Audrey Hepburn’s jewels on Sunday might seem contradictory. But both the Grammys and Oscars versions of “Shallow” bear Gaga’s great hallmarks. They force a reaction. They interrupt the flow. They imagine what would happen if people were allowed to act as intensely as they inwardly feel. But they also suggest that someone can act—as in perform—so well that what they really feel is incidental. At the very end, in yet another seizingly effective micro-moment, Cooper, centimeters from Gaga’s face, opened his eyes and finally looked out at the audience. What was in his head? As with Gaga’s death glare at the Grammys, only he can really answer that. The dream of a great romance, though, is that total understanding can be achieved between lovers, and by their voyeurs... https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2019/02/lady-gaga-bradley-cooper-shallow-oscars-review/583525/

So I've mostly been in camp "Bradley and Gaga are good friends who may or may not have had some sort of emotional connection/affair." But the whole scooting on the piano bench to get even closer, after he already sat down, to wrapping his arm around her and her gaze....welp. This pic from behind seals it. And I was surprised at how many non-entertainment, tabloid journalists were talking about this on twitter.

Cause there have been rumors of those two being unhappy for years, from the get go, and seeing her partner have chemistry like that—after he made a point of saying "oh, I'm not singing in character." Well.... And I usually hate photo assumption, but ssrly, look at photos of him and Gaga and compare them.

Yeah, I was watching it and thinking well...oh ****. And then I got on twitter and basically saw everyone mentioning it—like even film critics and people who work for CNN. One guy who hated ASIB was like **** it, forget what I said, give them all the awards now. And Melissa Silverstein is basically convinced they are ****ing.... Time will tell. But I bet paps are going to be following those two around for a while in hopes of catching them, even if it's just meeting up for lunch.

I would have dragged you a month ago. I thought their friendship played up a bit for fun and the movie, and I also cynically wondered if he was leaning into it to get rid of the gay rumors. Now, whole different story. I don't get how people say "oh, there isn't any chemistry" cause hello. I don't know if anything will actually happen, and I'm not sure as a fan if I want something to happen (the kid, the current girlfriend, the messy Scientologist ex-wife, misogynistic media)...but something is there. And the media is picking it up on his end, so they aren't pinning it all on Gaga. Like when people who don't pay attention to entertainment news are commenting on it, it's definitely gone beyond some speculation by GGD fans and some jokey tweets. Even the L.A. Times devoted a whole article only to pictures of Bradley and Gaga, and WaPo did a break down. Also, the fact that they were apparently making the rounds together Friday and Saturday to all the parties (I believe People Mag.) is....interesting. And US Weekly is less reliable, but the whole thing about them being in a corner at some party Friday night. Like they have PR people so they know how that has to come across. Lastly, and I swear I'm not trying to be petty or mean about Irina because I honestly feel bad for her even tho she's beautiful and successful. But the girl tends to pose hard in the past at VF, which tends to get the most press coverage. I remember seeing photos of her in the past working that carpet. The fact that she didn't go pose on that VF carpet....hm.
