No. I mean, she has ALL the requirements: Talent, Acclaim, awards, fame. And with this recent re-peak in her career, she is on her way to becoming one, but she still needs longevity. She barely has 10 years of career. I would not even consider someone like Beyonce who has 20 years a legend yet, and she has met the same requirements too.  She just needs to keep herself in the game for more time. She has done everything else, we now just have to wait until more generations embrace her.

She is on her way there but not yet at the level of Whitney, Mariah and Celine. As another poster said, longevity is the only thing that's missing.

That being said, the industry and the concept of 'the celebrity' has changed. Anyone can become famous for very little (thanks to social media) and I'm not sure there will ever be another legend in the same way as before, though we will still have our generations version of icons.

Definitely on her way to becoming one. She's only 10 years into her career so it might be a bit premature to call her a legend, but she's already an icon of our generation (in the same tier as Beyonce and Adele).

I feel that she's a legend in my bones though :giggle:

Beyonce is arguably the biggest female artist of the 21st century (I'd say bigger than Britney Spears even)

She has a tone of critical claim and endless awards like Grammys

I think it's safe to call Beyonce a legend

PS: I dunno if call talent a "requirement". There's underground artists Drowning in talent and never become known and some legends like the Beatles can't sing to save their lives. Yes they wrote their own songs and played instruments but was their talent so big to justify being the biggest group of all time??? I think they were supper overated

There's a lot of factors that affect commercial success besides talent

LOVEDRUG

She's the only person in history to get an Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Glove in the same year... pretty legendary

Beyoncé reminds me of Janet Jackson. Everyone know who she is, she is a legend! But once Beyonce hit a certain mark in the Industry  no one will care anymore.

The difference for me is that I see Gaga more as an artist, she creates her own music while I don't think Beyonce puts so much effort when it comes to create her own music; anyway I think she is a beast on the stage and she is one of the best performers ever but as a musician Gaga for me wins hands down.

Somebody said Adele.. c'mon... Beyoncé? Yes. Adele? Not at all.

Possible... We will have to see

It's true that commercial success and remembered impact are 2 different things

While I'd say Beyonce is the biggest female artist of the 21st century so far...

I'd Say Britney Spears will be remembered more than Beyonce despite not being as good of a singer and not selling as much just because she stands out.

When people think back to music moments of the last 2 decades ppl remember more Britney than Beyonce

Oops I did it again, Hit Me baby One More time, Toxic will never be forgotten

Halo and Single Ladies are the only two that come even close to being as iconic as those Britney songs

So I can see what u mean of her being forgettable. Shes huge but a huge generic artist most of her career (she was quality generic tho)

Now she experiments more but since these experimentations arent turning into hits they won't stand out cuz ppl won't remember it

I agree. But I'm not talking about who is more talented or who puts more work. We were talking legendary status (regardless of who deserves what)

I think Gaga will ultimately surpass Beyonce as a legend I just don't think she's there yet

As I said in my comment above tho, even tho Beyonce may be the biggest female commercially this century, I think Britney Spears is the most memorable and culturally iconic (despite mediocre vocal skills)

Ppl can name a lot of old Britney hits like oops I did it again, hit me baby one More time, toxic etc

If ppl had to go that far back for Beyonce many might have to think about it for a moment to remember 3 hits

Britney has some classic songs under her catalogue, no one can't deny that... big classics. but she isn't a legend because she can't even sing period, she lacks talent... and I don't meant to be rude but c'mon... you see Gaga winning everything, being recognised... when did it happen to Britney? Never.

Is this a real question?

She’s not a legend...she’s a GODDAMN legend.

I’m blonde, I’m skinny, I’m rich and I’m a little bit of a bitch
