JohnWayne92 2,175
Do you think Gaga will now be billed as, "Academy Award Winner," or still as, "Academy Award Nominee," on her next film? I ask because, she won the Oscar for her music, not that I'm diminishing that because its still HUGE, DESERVED, AND SHE WON BEST ACTRESS IN MY EYES, but I'm curious only because it wasnt purly for acting, even tho it should have been

giskardsb 12,565
depends. most people would automatically assume the award was for song, so if they specifcally want to tout acting they would probably say "Best Actress Nominee".
Harry 26,836
They should 100% say "Academy Award Winner" because that's what she is

AlexanderMagno 10,746
Hum I get your idea, but yeah you're kind of diminishing the category She is an Academy Award winner. Let's not overthink it. If they get specific, she's a "Best Actress nominee", but she will from now on forever be remembered and mentioned as an Academy Award winner. Lots of movies lose Best Picture award, but win tons of technical awards. You never read "Best Picture Academy Award nominee", it's always "x time Academy Award-winning movie". Right, I'm just asking, because she is a singer. I know it's kind of technical, but also, you dont usually have the technical side of things said on a poster or in a trailer, which is why I was curious. Of course, she is an Academy Award winner to me.
JohnWayne92 2,175
To further elaborate on my question, she wasnt billed as Academy Award Nominee, even tho she was nominated for TIHTY.
REALITY 76,794
If I were her or her management, I would 1000% want to use "Academy Award Winner, Lady Gaga", because, that's what she is. Actually, I'd love for it to say "3 time Academy Award Nominee, and 1 time Academy Award Winner," or to something of that effect. I also think, though, that highlighting her "Best Actress" nomination would be the best. The nomination in it of itself is already a tremendous feat. Imagine having that shown in a trailer or something...That'd be great! 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰
