Bradley 59,271
A lot of people mentioned about how Gaga has been 'less fun' than she was before in interviews, I think that is partially contributed by the sheer amount of small interviews that she had to do at award shows, premiere events and the press tour, but truthfully when you stop for 1 or 2 minutes with an interviewer who wants to talk about your dress or how amazing your film was, which I think is only polite, there really isn't much room for her to say anything that might 'entertain' you. I think she's a 32-year-old woman who has matured a lot since when she started, and she just doesn't feel the need nor think it's appropriate to make sassy or controversial jokes in the way she did. She has constantly demonstrated how she wanted to use her platform and her voice to talk about important things, to sing about things human-beings connect to and feel, instead of making a trendy bop perhaps. Through this interview, I was actually very much entertained and enlightened on how she thinks and what values she holds as being most important in songwriting, and I think the A Star Is Born experience will translate into everything artistic she does in the future. When I attended Enigma and her Jazz & Piano show, she performed her acoustic songs as if she were speaking each and every line to the audience (she said 'Listen to what I'm saying to you'), and she talked about how the perfect musicians who hit the technicality right, can still sing badly if there is a void of emotion in their singing. I also think that in contrast to how she behaved in the past, maintaining a pop star persona all the damn time, whether on or off-stage, she knows her place right now. She can still be Lady Gaga when she's on stage (see Enigma), and she knows her craft well, but when she's taken off her 'superhero cape', she wants to be herself, the girl she hides from us, the girl behind the aura.mp3 . If you guys have seen the Hollywood Reporter roundtable video, she mentioned that there were a lot of things that she hid from us (the fans) that she channeled into the portrayal of Ally Maine, and that she drew adrenaline from her fans when she's performing. I guess in simple words, when she's off-stage, or when she's giving an interview, she stopped feeling the need to put on a mask and maintain this mystery that we were so tempted by. And I think what she does right now is very healthy for an actor and musician who constantly needs to delve into different emotional experiences in order to create a performance, character or song, because when you know who you truly are, you won't lose her. gumzy3000 7,401
A part of me feels like all of this is also a phase for her. Like I don’t like comparing her to Madonna but even she had phases where she spoke eloquently and serious and then eras where she spoke differently. A change can happen anytime honestly, we would have NEVER predicted her to be like this when ARTPOP came out so who knows how she will be like in the future. trolly troll troll
