Admin honestly has no clue what he’s talking about... didn’t he say something earlier in the year or last year that never happened? 

I seriously doubt that’ll happen anyway... the time before Enigma starts back up again seems more likely

I’ve been a Gaga fan since her debut, but only joined GGD a few years ago, so I didn’t know any of this. I’m 15 pages into the thread and it’s...awful. I can’t believe the fanbase was treating her like this--and seemingly all because her lead single was “only” a top 5 hit! 

This forum is now starkly different in tone in contrast to back then, even though it’s not exactly like she’s immune from bullying here now either. But almost all the posts from the thread you linked were just so nasty and bitter, so seemingly either a lot of toxic people left the fanbase, and/or everyone just grew up, matured, and stopped behaving so ludicrously. 

(I was busy in grad school at the time AP was released, so I just enjoyed the album and attended the tour and really didn’t know about any of this chaos that was occurring). It’s weird to “experience" this drama retroactively, because the era was so different for me personally.

Either way, it’s incredibly sad and shameful that Gaga actually used to engage with fans here, and they actually drove her away with their hateful comments.

Pre-ARTPOP fans were charts hungry, specially after BTW where she sold +1M copies in the first week and had a #1 hit. She took an unusual break between BTW and ARTPOP and the hype for her comeback was higher than ever. Fans saw themselves in Gaga and wanted her to succeed to feel good about themselves by going on ATRL (pop music forum) and drag other fan bases for their ‘lesser favs’. When Katy outperformed Gaga hell broke lose and everything went downhill. They were angry at Gaga as if she embarrassed them infront of other fanbases, when in reality they felt bad about themselves. Some ‘unstanned’ while others adapted to appreciate her talent and craft; and here we are today.
