Didymus 34,379
He was nominated for many prestigious awards. Being snubbed would mean he wasn't even considered in the first place. He never stood a chance against Lanthimos and Cuarón and for good reason. Not everyone can win Would it have been more fair if he won over them? No, 'cause he didn't do a good enough job compared to them. If he made this movie to win awards and isn't satisfied with being nominated for a ton of highly sought-after accolades and an overwhelming critical acclaim directed towards his directing efforts specifically, then he shouldn't be making movies in the first place. I doubt that's why he did it though. For a first feature it was a triumph. We should feel happy for him, not sad.

NewYorkCity 10,530
same here, when I think about Gaga I feel so great and then I think about Bradley and feel so bad.. he deserved so much, first being snubbed on director category, then not winning best actor (sorry he derserved) and his movie as a whole not getting OBVIOUS awards such as sound mixing or Sam Eliott (bitch tf)
Phlop 4,773
I mean honestly, Gaga was only able to win because Shallow was the obvious winner for any song award. If the movie had no music in it, she would’ve been empty handed. It’s not like she was winning Best Actress anywhere (besides Critics Choice having a random tie). Unfortunately, Bradley doesn’t get the credits for Shallow since he didn’t write any of it. BYE
BrooklynBoo 90
Don't worry and don't be sad guys. I think this is just the beginning and we will see what the future will bring. Can't wait for his next movie.
LaLuna 12,732
I feel bad for him too. I'm happy Gaga is getting the praise she deserves, but come on, ASIB is his baby. He's proven that he's a great director and I hope all these snubs don't stop him from directing more movies.
MonsterOfSpain 8,307
I'm also sad he didn't get any big awards but I think he can be very happy with his directional debut, ASIB and his amazing work on it have been met with widespread acclaim and I don't think he even expected it to be this big at first. He can be really proud of his job

Zander 14,910
For his first film he got nominated in every major award as both actor and director (apart from the directing snub at the Oscars), the film grossed a huge amount, unanimous praise, and the movie was a big success. I know winning an award might of been some kind of validation for him but I don’t think he needs it as he’s still kind of won though hasn’t he? I’m sure he’s happy.
