While I understand that those who served overseas gave huge sacrifices, let's not downplay the roles of women and other people who couldn't go back at home around the world.

Someone had to work in the factory producing ammo or food packages or basically anything the people needed during war. Someone had to decode messages from the enemies and work with technologies like the telephone operators. Someone had to drive around and provide transportation services like ambulances. 

And let's not forget that just because women weren't drafted to fight didn't mean they were completely off the battlefields. Does war nurses ring a bell to anyone?

We can't push everyone to do one thing because that will create misbalance. We all have a role to serve if we have another world war (which I hope we don't). Thank the people who kept us free yesterday, and continue supporting the ones who are doing so today.

Girl men also had part carrying this country through wars, yes young women did take the bulk of it because of half of the male population between the ages of 20-49 were drafted during world wars. Yes, it sucks that it took a long time women barely had rights and the same opportunities as men. If only in the past there was more equality. Still doesn't change the fact that many women had the opportunities to live a life and the odds of them developing a mental disorder was really low. If you say I'm on a high horse it's the one of equality just because women have had a history of fighting for their rights it should not be an excuse to exempt them from being part of a Draft. Women in the past were part of the military but in low numbers around 300,000. Over 15 million men were drafted for World War 2. I will take back my words about the women not serving during past wars because the U.S benefitted from having nurses taking care of wounded soldiers.

I think you entirely missed my point. Your original post I quoted implied that women are lazy draft dodgers because most of them would get pregnant if there is a future draft because they want to avoid war. What else could you possibly mean by saying women would get pregnant in order to avoid a draft if not that women in the US are lazier and more cowardly than the men who had been drafted in our past wars? Do you not see the clear misogyny there? 

I never actually commented on whether women should be included int he draft so you taking that and running with it in your reply just proves that you didn't understand what I was saying. Personally, being a feminist, I don't want to go to war or be drafted, but if there is any mandatory draft, then women should absolutely be included in that draft, same as men, same as everyone who fits the bill. Don't blame the women of the past for the misogyny of the past that was done to them, not for them. The decision of them being excluded from any past draft was a decision made by a bunch of MEN. 

And in no way did I imply that men did not make ultimate sacrifices through any war on this Earth. Don't put words in my mouth like being feminist means I need to belittle men. That's crazy. 

My point is that acting like it's women's fault they were not drafted and that it implies they have not suffered in some way (and hey, it's not a competition) and that in the future it makes them lazy draft dodgers (getting pregnant to avoid a draft) is highly offensive and ridiculous.
