Wow, really good predictions! I think it will look like it moreless, Roma is such a strong position, there won't be any surprise I think so. And my cold War (*). It's nominated in 3 categories, I wish it won at least one :) we will see.

I have a strong ass feeling that shallow won’t win.

It will. Same like Gleen Close and Roma (I don't know what category for Roma, but it's ****ing favorite.)

Have we had any tease that Ronson and co will be performing tonight too?  If not, maybe it will just be a piano performance, which I would not be against after the crazy Grammys performance.

If the Academy knew what they were doing, they would ensure Gaga is involved every year at this level. They are in bad need of a shot in the arm for the broadcast and they have been blessed this year, a low point for the Academy, with Gaga. My GP friends have been texting, calling, expressing their cheering for Gaga. She is featured in all the promotions. This buzz before BradleyxGaga's performance is palpable. The Red Carpet, a phenomenon really that was born out of the Oscars, will be impacted Sunday night in a way they have never seen before. Our Queen shuts Red Carpets down. Over and over again. She is a gift from above. And The Academy should give thanks.

I did not watch in 2016 because I was not sure if she would win. But this time I want to because I think she'll win+the performance and I don't want to miss it but I have school tomorrow :noparty: this is my first monday class in a long time and it just had to be the morning after the oscars :triggered:

I know Roma is a huuuge favorite to sweep this year, but I just thought - what about Netflix? This is the first time a Netflix-distributed film has been given this much acclaim, and it's an unfair advantage IMO, because obviously more people have been exposed to it than a regular film. Netflix are basically a "newbie" distributor and I just thought, maybe The Academy wouldn't want to give them everything because in the long-term Netflix is a threat to other long-standing, more prestigious distributors. Just think, if Roma wins Best Picture, then all the crappy C-grade filmmakers that find their way onto Netflix will get excited, and soon enough the film festival circuit and traditional marketing (billboards and print advertising) will be hurt...because most people have Netflix so why bother going to a theatre to actually support a film?

I know it's a bit of a long theory, but just think about it.

Phoebe Buffay

and the oscar for best actress in a leading role goes to: lady gaga in a star is born

"oh my god. i (breathes heavily) am so honored to be here and to be nominated in the same category as glenn, olivia, melissa.. you know, i've been acting since i was 13 but the truth is, singing worked out first. this is a win for the germanottas, an italian family from europe in new york city and as a european is such an honor for an american to win this award. you know, there can be 100 people in the room and 99 don't believe in you and only one does and that's bradley." if this ain't her speech tonight... :air: :rip:
