The only people I've seen who want female toplessness and attention seekers who aren't doing it to end sexism, they just want be exhibitionists. Most women don't want to have their breasts let loose because it's uncomfortable, people will stare and they'll get sexually harassed worse than they are already. I've always said it'll take hundreds, maybe thousands of years of evolution to stop the sight of female breasts being sexualised, so people campaigning for it won't even be around to see the effects of it. The planet may not even be here by that point, so why bother? It's not worth opening up women to decades and centuries of extended harassement and assault when topless while the perception of breasts changes. Idk, I mean, public breastfeeding has seen a growing normalization. Things don't move unless people move them. I'm sure plenty of women would like to sunbathe topless but can't because of decency laws. Sexual harassment should also be combated as well. I see your point, but I think it's a bit defeatist to say that just because it'll take awhile, we shouldn't at all try. That's how queer rights got to be as far as they are in the western world *and* women's rights

That's how queer rights got to be as far as they are in the western world *and* women's rights Public breastfeeding is completely different from public toplessness. Breastfeeding is a natural need, you don't even see the majority of the breast when feeding and most mothers partly cover themselves with a cloth anyway. But out in public exposing your breasts, for the sake of it? Women are not going to be happy with their men ogling young, pretty, big breasted women and if a fully-clothed woman can be catcalled, what's a topless woman going to endure? There's no place for it in polite society. We've perception of bodies have evolved to where it is to the point where it'll take ages to mentally unpick it all. It won't be a gradual change that will happen in our lifetimes, so why bother? It's not being defeatist, it's being realistic. I just see too many people support this movement for the wrong reasons and I don't for a minute believe there's any genuine hope for change behind it. There are many countries where women are allowed to be topless but they don't. Why? Because the majority of women have no desire to do it for the reasons I mentioned, only the attention seekers want to do it (none of them will be "a girl's girl" as no female with any sense of girl code would think it's acceptable to be topless in front of another woman's man). And I'm not one for making a massive change in the law just to please attention seekers, of all people.
