I could’ve worded it better. I’m just really angry. This type of s*** makes everyone gay look like a bufoon. It’s embarassing and I hope more celebrities call him out for it. It’s damaging not only to gay people but victims of hate crimes in general.

How f***ing disgusting. Loser! Why? They supported him like any other normal human being would. Why would anyone jump to thinking it was made up right away? And what’s wrong with being “pro-race and pro-gay”. What do you want people to be? Racist and homophobic?

Poor choice of words, I was angry because of how much attention this all initially received and all the extra attention it’s about to. As a gay man this just makes anyone in the minority look bad. So do you suggest that, instead of believing victims when they report attack, DOUBT them until you’re “sure” they tell the truth? What “movement for equality” are you supporting that gives victims more reasons not to come out against their assailant?

I do agree that celebrities should speak out and try to make light of this situation. But I also don't see why this is a celebrity thing when a lot of regular people spoke out too. At the end of the day celebrities are people too and have thoughts and feeling just like the rest of us. The industry and Hollywood always get called out whenever someone sticks up for something. And I really dislike when people funnel them into some weird pedestal. Because people also always complain about why we look to celebrities for opinions. Some people need to decide what they want from celebs.. Also, it was pretty normal for celebs, especially in the black community, to speak out because many know Jussie. It's also Black History Month. And hate crimes shouldn't be taken lightly. People are passionate about it.

And in my opinion, celebrities deserve to be treated as though they are on a pedestal– they’re the ones with the voice that so many people (especially of minorities) don’t have.
