If this gets good results then ill give him credit, but for now I just dont buy it. 

First, how is campaigning so other countries change their laws, going to work? This sounds like theyll just give some speeches and see what happens.

Secondly, Trump has a history with Iran, with tha nuclear deal and stuff, this could be just a way to put them in a bad light so others get on his side of the nuclear deal.

Third, he wants to decriminalize lgbts in other countries, yet trans people are banned from the military here. That just doesnt make sense.

 

So I guess we'll see, ill give him the benefit of the doubt on this one, I just hope others are smart enough to not go "wtf i love trump now" just because of this announcement.

Um, are they getting gunned down in their homes? Are they being escorted into camps? Are they forced to live a certain way under their will? No. I think us Americans have it pretty lucky compared to many people in other countries who have a real homosexuality problem.

This is probably the worst thing any sitting prez can do to help the international queer community. Not only will it be completely ineffective, it will be used to validate the “the US is pushing gay sex on your children!” propaganda that is being in used in just about every anti gay movement rn.

The best way for the USA to help endangered queer folk in other countries would be to allow them asylum here. Of course the big special big boy is staunchly anti immigrant so that’s not gonna happen.

This is a pr move that will, at best mean nothing, and at worst actually endanger the people he claims to wanna protect.

Ok so the issue that I take with this is that, although I am happy to see support for LGB, I will not leave my trans sisters and brothers behind. It has been pretty clear that the republicans are against trans people, some flat out denying their existance. Never forget that trans people, especially trans people of colour, contributed greatly to the civil rights movement and to LGBT culture as a whole. We, as LGB and allies, need to protect and remember our trans sisters and brothers.

Oh wow, Trump is playing it smart. He literally is trying to win the vote of the LGBT community for his next election. I want to see what he personally has to say to all these nations who oppress the LGBT community. Will he be as aggressive as he talks about border security?
