Trump Admin Push to End Global Criminalization of Homosexuality

The problem with this being a stunt is that Trump will get credit for it, and then never follow through. I'm all for this though, if he actually does this.

Intentions might be bad, but in the end it's not the intentions that count, but the results. So I think this is welcome, as long as the results are positive too in the end.

Listen, I live in a country where homosexuality is illegal and punishable. I really don't like Trump, and not saying he is doing from his heart but at least the previous administration's implementation won't be dismissed. I was very much worried about him to abolish the support from us because the US plays a vital role to support LGBTQ+ community of Bangladesh. I'm just feeling relieved!

Wasn't there just a thread about the admin deporting a man back to Iran who may face penalties for being gay?

I'm all on board if Trump, Pence, etc say something. But this looks more like random cabinet/ambassador members making moves. I'll be happy when change actually happens.

Also, I thought it was America first, so why not help out us too? Republicans, even the gay one leading this, are clueless about LGBTQ rights.

I wouldn't be surprised if its just another grandstanding effort to get on the fence LGBT people to say "hey at least he supports the gays!" again just like they did with the flag incident. He's made a few random pro LGBT statements or suggestions throughout his time, but he always follows up by quietly doing something super awful, so I'm more just bracing myself for what that could be lol. I also can't imagine his base supporting him in this since they dont support LGBT rights (while decriminalizing being gay itself is a bare minimum, it's also an important step for many of those countries) so I feel like trump just gave that gay ambassador a sword to go die on, but that he won't actually authorize anything when it comes down to tangible plans In those regards, I expect our european allies, etc. to be more productive in this than America. 

Actions speak louder than words though. I obviously want this to happen, just trying to be real about it though.

He might be just desperate because he realized that after next year he won't be president anymore. And yet he hasn't done anything besides talk **** and press tweet. So he might be like: "Well... I guess I have to give the gays what they want, cuz I don't have time left to do anything else"
