The difference between Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj is not what they say but the intentions behind what they say.

Gaga doesn't have any malice when she speaks out. She never has a bad word to say about anyone.

But Nicki seems to be more hot headed and outspoken in a way that deliberately stirs up trouble. It makes her come across as problematic as the kids would say these days.

Gaga has more decorum so gains more respect. She wouldn't have called out Miley at a big awards show, for example.

It ain't Nicki, it's her sister.

Also, both things can be true at once. Nothing Gaga said here was controversial or bad about Madonna (and this interview was a while ago), but many Black singers would be deemed "bitter" for similar comments. At the same time, Nicki needs to stop misdirecting her anger and frustration on other women and realize that a lot of the criticism she receives is legitimate, and not just blown up or the product of racism. Cardi, for example, has dealt with more racist backlash while Nicki's backlash is usually her own actions.

Also, Nicki's age and I'm not digging at her because of it, is part of the problem. Gaga stopped publicly shading and dragging other big pop girls, and she never did it much to begin with, like five or six years ago.  Taylor stopped, in part, because people were tired of it and also thought a girl in her late 20s should be over that type of ****. Same with Katy. But Nicki is still being publicly shady in her mid 30s.  Like publicly dragging folks instead of just keeping it to your friends, and that's what Nicki keeps doing, has its limits.

Has she witness the backlash from anything said or done during ARTPOP. Her sister is just venting and it shouldn’t be a skin color issue.

I like Nicki and think she and Gaga have a mutual respect for each other and hope they collab some day.

Y/N. I love petty drama, but I also think in terms of PR it's better to not go after colleagues and especially other women. It's why as amusing as the dumb Katy/Taylor drama was, it got to a point where it was like "they need to stop." Gaga needs to save her dragging for Mike Pence.

First of all this thing that Gaga said was absolutely stupid and wrong.
Gaga did get backlash for it and was accused of reviving the feud.
Nicki's personnality and behaviour is trashy. She's bitter when another female rapper is a bit successful, she blocked her fans that asked her to speak about the Orlando shooting, she blocked her fans that stan Iggy Azalea, she supports rapists, she's always shady etc...

Something that Gaga learn was to tell the truth with respect, without being bitch-y. If people/media wanted they could have made the beats1 interview a thing, but Madonna and Gaga are just too used by 2017, like not even what she said in 5F2

So when 2 problematics rap girls get in a fight the people just look at it like a chicken fight:awkney:

Sweetie, this isn't the first time Onika has mentioned Gaga to deflect from her own backlash.

That may be true, but that doesn't change the fact that this tweet is not remotely shady toward Gaga. It's a criticism of the media's treatment of Nicki, not of Gaga.

There may be better ways to bring attention to Nicki's poor behavior than to be be catty, dishonest, and a name caller yourself though. :)

Gurl let's not play the race card here. There's a huge difference between stating things respectfully and eloquently and saying things which come across as rude and shady. And I believed the latter is exactly what Miss Onika has been doing. It's not about race at all. Lord knows how media make our girl dirty and how many backlashes she received during the ARTPOP era. And yes, this statement was messy AND she received some criticisms. But gurl this isn't about race.

And yes I was hoping Miss Onika would be shading our gurl at one point or the other after Gaga shown support to Cardi.

Onika knows what she’s doing by liking this. The implication is that she, as a black woman, does not benefit from the white privilege Gaga’s career surfs on. Whether she intended it or not, it is shady to bring up a woman who has never once acknowledged her to score racial points. Not to mention she is completely wrong on this.

Oh and I will be as catty as you are passive aggressive :)

What Gaga said was absolutely fine considering the disgusting things Madonna has said and done about Gaga e.g. mocking BTW and her fans through the backdrop of her MDNA tour. I don’t understand why she should stay hush all the time when less talented people come for her for no reason. Not like she lied either. Madonna is obsessed with covering her flaws while Gaga embraces that in her art.
