SharkmanthaC 114,691
The author makes a point though. I haven’t seen any of the other movies so I can’t really comment on them, but Gaga’s performance was amazing. She had to get on stage and act like she had never sang in front of an audience before. she/her/hers
Lord Temptation 11,209
She deserves the Oscar simply because it was a magnificent yet understated performance. That is all.
Sorcerer 12,507
Love Gaga but Glenn Close is super overdue for an Oscar, and she has such a magnificent performance in The Wife to support it.
PunkTheFunk 124,471
She deserves it tbh. Glenn can always get a lifetime achievement award.

Gohan 16,448
I'm honestly so tired of the "Glenn already got it" comments. The Oscars are always a surprise box, everyone thought she secured her first Oscar with TIHTY and then Sam won, totally unexpected. Let's just wait and see what happens! tryna go ask Alice, tryna catch that rabbit
Chris Evans 8,917
honestly it should go to Coulman or Gaga. Glenn was great but the movie was not by any means. Never liked the overdue narrative that people get when they don't get a win or the "they're too new they'll have more chances" narrative.
Bradley 59,196
I agree with them that the Oscars sometimes take too many things into account, and really we should all just judge the performance by itself and not any narratives whatsoever, but they insinuated that Gary Oldman didn't deserve the Oscar because Timothee Chalamet should've won, I loved Call Me By Your Name but to say that Gary wasn't Oscarworthy seems very wrong to me.
