Do you remember this classic? Lemonade was so huge that Beyonce was given a shi* load of time for an elaborate performance.

I think the same is happening with Gaga. The movie is a cultural event. 400 million dollars at the box office. Amazing reviews. 8 time Oscar nominated movie. This is a rare achievement. Not everyone has that.

Gaga will definitely start with shallow, move onto ARUTW, ITA, WDYDTDTDTDTTM and end with INLA

The movie is HUGEEE, so is the soundtrack. It deserves at least 10 minutes at the Grammy's. Whaddyathong?

wishful thinking meets delusion let's just stop getting disappointed at stuff that isnt realistic... I know last time she did Joanne/Million Reasons but then she wasnt up for 4 awards with one song so it really makes the most sense to just do shallow. Bobby can book her GMA or smth if she wanted to do ARUTW so badly.

Ok, let's calm down here: "the movie is a cultural event". Black Panther is a bigger cultural event than A Star Is Born (1.3 billion dollars at the box office, amazing reviews, 7 Oscar nominations, it's by far the most culturally significant), so that's no excuse for a medley. Let's not pretend ASIB is the bigger movie here.

But Shallow is the bigger song. So, Shallow is the obvious decision.

If there was a medley, two songs are more than enough. More than that is highly unlikely. Most likely she will sing one song, and she could do a different song from Shallow (INLA would be a good choice nevertheless). But yeah, expecting anything more than Shallow is not very wise.

Fam, it is great and all but LBR, if we go by that logic for who had the biggest hear last year, Kendrick and Drake will get the attention more than Gaga. They are the most nominated for Grammys this year with 8 and 7 noms respectively.

Drake owns the Summer of last year with that In My Feelings song that were become one of the famous meme also.

A performance for Shallow will be enough. Just wish Gaga the best that she won something that night. It will be great if she won all 5, but won 3 of them is enough to tie it with Rihanna who owns 9 Grammys thus far.

And if she only won 1 then she will finally tie with Madonna with 7 Grammys :poot:

You misunderstood. Although black panther has the advantage of being a super hero movie I think it's culturally relevant in us. But ASIB had great songs woven into the storyline which to me is the best soundtrack past year. So in that way, being a musical movie (although it's not considered one) getting some recognition in Grammy's is something it deserves

Why are you talking about Black Panther all of sudden? Why compare? Hey girl

I mentioned it because OP praised A Star Is Born as "a cultural event" and enumerated its achievements, when Black Panther surpasses by far those achievements and has 8 Grammy nominations, thus making it more deserving of having a medley, according to the OP's arguments.

It's not just about being a super hero movie, as you might know, it's a milestone for African-American movies and for Hollywood productions. I mean, the cultural importance of Black Panther is probably bigger than all the movies released in 2018 together (even if it's not a perfect movie or if it has flaws in its depiction of black culture).

Yes, ASIB soundtrack is connected with the story of the movie, unlike Black Panther's, but even that is something to be more celebrated at the Oscars (the Grammys is a music event, the connection between storyline and music is not really the most important in a soundtrack, while the Oscars actually value that because it's a movie event).

Plus, the ASIB soundtrack is only eligible next year. Shallow is the only focus here.

So again, I'm not trying to bash anyone, I'm just saying that according to OP's own words, Black Panther (which is nominated for Album of the Year, a very rare achievement for a soundtrack) is way more deserving of a medley, this year.

I get the points you're making. That's why bp got so many nominations at Oscars. But I think Gaga can perform all those songs in Grammy which kind of fills that spot where an artist is focused in that event as in the case of Beyonce. So in that way I was hopeful that she'll get a medley performance at the Grammy's

I don't like when Gaga does medleys. They always seem so rushed. I prefer her to focus on just one song. I'd love for her to perform ARUTW in full. :flutter:
