both shallow and INLA impacted AC playlists. Shallow was just the one that took off.

just another gay

LOL. A duet with Bradley Cooper will ofcourse do better than a solo.

You get double starpower plus before Shallow almost no one know Bradly can sing.

Kworb and my eyes. If you ever went on kworb to track Shallow's success on itunes etc and looked at the radio updates, I'll Never Love Again (Ext. V) was added to AC for awhile. It was on the lower end meaning it didn't get that many spins but it was there for at least 2 weeks then fell off. Im not saying it was a single or that it was supposed to be the main single but factually it was added to adult contemporary playlists for whatever reason. So some lucky lil people got to hear it on their local adult contemporary stations for a minute baha

Hmm, I don't believe it... the news would've spread faster.

A radio station can play albums tracks, you know. Shallow had radio points even before it was sent to radios, it even gave it a little boost and helped it peak at #5. They probably playlisted it because it's an important song in the movie.

I also I asked this on the chart thread and they said it didn't happen.

I mean I know songs can get played regardless, Nobody's Business off of Rihannas Unapologetic album was played on radio for a minute after the release of the album, to this day idk why but I can only guess due to its popularity either in streaming or digital sales at the time. Im willing to argue the same for Ill Never Love Again, which factually was on the AC list on kworb for at least 2 weeks like I said proving it was added to Adult Contemporary playlists specifically, not pop radio btw. Not a matter of belief, its literal fact lol I have like zero motivation to lie about that.

I cannot see any source about the single switch for A Star is Born on the Internet. Can someone find a link about INLA being the original lead single instead of Shallow?

@derpmonster said it was a fake picture that misleaded some into thinking so.

I agree with everything except INLA being a bigger hit then Shallow. Shallow is like gagas biggest hit ever in many places and atleast on a bad romance/poker face level. I doubt INLA would come close to that. It's not even the 2nd most liked song of the movie because that is ARTUW. I bet INLA would been a hit as the lead but not shallow big.

except for I’ll Never Love Again peaking top 40 (36 or 38 or something?) and ARUTW peaking at 41 i agree with this

There are no official statements that INLA was the lead, and Shallow was a buzz single. It's all speculation on my end ;)

You read what I wrote, didn't you? So obviously the answer's yes. And yes, I'm a well rounded individual who works out, does yoga, and has a day job :vegas:

The original essay makes a lot of points about her career that are accurate (and well known). The promo singles being released as actual singles and ****ing up her plans have been a huge problem visually.

But in this case, it doesn't make a difference. The "music videos" are pulled straight out of the film. No need for extra work.

So a last minute switch to Shallow doesn't even register. They could've planned for Shallow for months, or switched 30 minutes before sending it to radio, and it would have impacted just the same.

I get wishing that INLA had an impact like IWALY, but it just doesn't. ARUTW is sooooooooo much better anyways :') And Shallow has Bradley so all the ladies can love it. INLA just doesn't have the it factor.
