I remember years ago during ARTPOP and sort of around C2C people were obsessed with her being successful so that she could out do the other pop girls but she's done that already. She's so much higher up than Katy and her other contemporaries that Katy couldn't even see her with the Hubble space telescope. The work Gaga has done for the last four and a half years is lasting, much more sincere, and will age as gracefully as she will, more gracefully than a few stupid #1 hits of recent memory. Idk how people can be mad about that. 

Plenty of the most celebrated music legends weren't massively slaying on the charts, and years from now no healthy person is going to care that like whatever single only charted at whatever position. I have no idea where the hell Queen, David, Cher, etc. charted with any of their songs and no one really talks about chart position it unless it's something really nice. But no one bashes for them not charting well. Prince actually often underperformed on the charts but no one really cares about that because his music is great. 

So whatever. Done ranting lol

Serioulsy some of you just need to pretend that Gaga quit in 2013 and go stan someone else.  Worship your golden image of Gaga for the rest of your lives and let the rest of us follow this new girl in peace.

If she was to continue being a pop star after the ARTPOP era, even if she changed it up a bit, I think the public would really be tired of her. I say this even if I think she was to make a kick-a** pop album hypothetically. The public was simply bored of her pop music and they knew that her shock tactics were not so shocking anymore. Surprise surprise - Gaga releases Joanne and becomes a respectable actress and the public is shook! I think this was actually a really smart move to make on her team. I think I had a lot of doubts on many of the things she did after ARTPOP but I agree with them now. It put her on the right direction and I think it boosted her career's overall longevity. ASIB is a classic and Lady GaGa will be talked about for a long time due to it.

Also, David Bowie wasn't super glam super sexualized Ziggy Stardust forever either. All the the tons and tons of Ziggy photos and relics of that era were from just TWO-THREE years. In '74/'75 there were no more traces of the first era that everyone was obsessed with and instead he put on a suit, put out a couple of soul-inspired records and did a few movies. People were shook at first but we're all fine lol

This fanbase tends to overlook the mistakes of her old management but always point out the flaws in her current team  Just because she was on top of the charts doesn't mean her music was managed perfectly.

For example, overshadowing the smash that was Born This Way for Judas and then trying to cover up the mistake with TEOG, killing all three songs' potential with wrong timing. Submitting the wrong songs to the Grammys. Also just as many cancelled projects as nowadays. Not everything is black or white. 

Besides that I agree some of the things she's done look half-aßßed (an atrocious video for one of her most beautiful songs, releasing a random song in the middle of an era, Enigma looks) but she's not a doll or something. Things don't have to be perfect all the time.

for aesthetic aspect  her actual team may not be as good as the previous one, but they have proven that in the long run they made a lot of right choices that boost her stardom and ensure the longevity of her career

for example: they stick to MR instead of choosing fan fav songs as many fans demanded and eventually we got a top 4 hit with platinum certification, let her do tons of tribute to change her image to public ...etc

you may argue that her success is mainly due to Super Bowl and ASIB but that's not true at all,  they chose her because she's popular again(thanks to the effort of her team and herself). after ARTPOP the public was already tired of her and calling her a fad, it's her team who help her to rebuild her image and regain her popularity, there's no way she can achieve that alone without the help of her team. Surely they are not the best team a pop star can dream of  but their plans are more organized and stable unlike her previous team which always overworked her and cancelled lots of plans

I agreed that choreo/ costumes/makeup are not always on point but I think no one really cares except some of  her fans

I think the choice for PI to be the lead single was not done entirely by her team... I was looking at some PI era interviews and she keeps repeating that the NFL loved PI and that she showed then the whole album. But she didn't end up performing PI so idk just something I was thinking about because choosing that song was one of the mistakes from her new team

I really am kind of baffled by this argument.  Engima is getting great reviews, as is the Jazz and Piano section, the shows are selling well, ASIB and the soundtrack were a smash hit, the Superbowl was a success, etc. Like I agree the Joanne rollout was botched, and I also think some of the enigma costumes aren't that great and her hair is iffy—but she's wildly successful, still, and doing better than 95% of the pop girls out there.  Like she and Katy hit it big around the same time, and well..I like Katy but there is a stark difference in where their careers are rn.  And didn't Joanne sell about the same as Rihanna's Anti? 

I'm not sure she'll ever be as commercially successful in terms of sales as she was back in the day, but she's making less commercial music and the music industry has drastically changed.  And people were just "over" the meat dress era to the point they were like "look at that bitch eating crackers"—she had to change as a necessity. But she's basically laid the groundwork for a long career through the acting, the music team-ups with Tony Bennett, etc., and back in '13 many people thought her career was over. 

There's also the mental health/personal well being aspect. She seems way happier nowadays.

 

Also, Gaga's riding a high, and I doubt Interscope will let anything **** up her next release.  Like I don't think the label cared that much before, since so many people wrote her off after ARTPOP.

I don't get why fans get so offended about other fans opinions on how Gaga has changed.

im really proud of the girl and she has had a great year but that doesn't mean I'm not crying out for the kind of thinking outside the box Gaga we had for the first 5 years of her career. She made us Believe that she was always going to be Gaga and continuously stated she would never take off her heels or care what anway one thinks Etc etc 

I just don't see that attitude anymore which sucks because it just seems more about money and success now and critic acclaim which was what she was so vocal about not caring about when she started her career
