monsterboy98 556 Posted February 3, 2019 Share Posted February 3, 2019 YES ABSOLUTELY. And let me tell you why. I LOVE ARIANA GRANDE SO MUCH, SOOOO MUCH. Her voice is phenomenal, her music and attitude are wonderful and she and her team are excellent at marketing her. However I suspect she will be truly an icon in 50 years for fooling the entire world into thinking she wasn’t Italian (white) in order to sell in a genre that is predominantly black in origin. I hope she isn’t torn to shreds for it, because she’s an amazing human, but I do think one day all the fake tan, blaccents and purposeful racial ambiguity will be exposed and she will stop doing it. When she stops fake tanning, will be when she becomes a true icon but that’s just my opinion. This is not meant to be rude about or to Ariana in any way, it’s just honesty. From pop girls in that age group, I personally think Miley is has been more iconic so far, in terms of memorable career moments, even if she has been less successful. Gaga became an icon through her outstanding performances and teathrics, over-the-top costumes, being innovative, bringing something new and different on the table, and her performance art.
