They can also allow the video to remain live on YouTube with ads. In those cases, the advertising revenue goes to the copyright owners of the claimed content. So basically if they can make $ from the fan uploaded videos, they can also use the views. The only prisons that exist are ones we put each other in.. When you a copyright claim, the owner chooses what happens. With Gaga's music, usually the upload stays up like normal, but the uploader can't earn revenue. Some artists have it blocked or have it removed + add a strike. Huge difference between the two. If it's still public, but has a copyright claim, that's good for us.
