Y’all, the 90-second thing is because they are trying to cut time in a VERY long broadcast that has been down in viewership. So the initial suggestion was 2 songs, Gaga said f*** that and now everyone gets to perform even if briefly. She isn’t the one cutting time, the station and producers are. She’s just here giving everyone a fair shot. God, y’all are being just the worst. All artists should be honored and supported equally in their nominations even if they aren’t likely to win. That’s not the point of performing.

Inb4 Gaga joins Queen to do a rendition of Radio Ga Ga and y'all will take back each and every nasty comment you made.

Only one is gonna win (her), so why waste everybody's time allowing all the nominees to perform? They should be glad they were nominated and quit whining on Twitter.

REALITY

I don't get why some of you guys are so triggered over this. If this is true, it would be disappointing to know that Gaga and Bradley can only perform for about 90 seconds, but at this same time, this is so incredibly admirable and honorable of her to do. Just because we're all Little Monsters doesn't/shouldn't mean that it has to be "GAGA #1!!!" all the damn time.

Imagine if you got nominated for something, but then can't get a chance to share that thing on stage with the world. Gaga is just making sure that everyone is equally represented, and I think that's amazing. It's a dream of their's too. Stop being so biased.

I never understand what makes Oscars did this anyway, like, they got time. Not constrained. The main show usually lasted for 2-3 hours long. Why the 90 seconds for musical performance? Don't the guests wanted to be entertained??

It has not even started, lol. Voting opens two days after the Grammys.

Gagadonna

I'm sure she'll be the last to perform in that medley, and she'll blow everyone away. I bet people will even forget the other nominees (except Queen maybe) have just performed :vegas:

Yas, Gaga, compromise your oscar in the name of fairness! We stan a true queen of kindness and selflessness.

I mean, what is happening with the Oscars, they just can’t seem to get their sh*t together. This is a whole mess and a half, yikes.

This won't affect her guys. It's not like the Academy president is sending a letter to all 7k+ members saying they can't vote for Gaga.

Uh guys I'm so mad that I want a full performance of the Hit from my idol and not other performances of songs that I don't know, I'm such a bad person ugh

It's not that you're a bad person, it's just that you're a bit of a drama queen and didn't put much thought into your reaction.

1. Doing that is smart because having only two songs performed would create backlash against not only the Academy, but also Gaga, and make her Best Song win seem less valid and feed the narrative of "it only won because it's a big hit."

2. A 90-second performance of "Shallow" wouldn't happen anyway because the Academy wants ratings and they would make her perform for half an hour if they could. What probably is going to happen is that the other songs get 90-seconds slots while "Shallow" will be performed in full, or at least with the verses shortened.
