I HAVE TO LAUGH.

This song is extremely overrated within this fanbase tbh.

Also, you just offended Bad Romance, G.U.Y, and Applause.

The song is kind of overrated in here but the video just has something to it that makes it so heavenly. Every time I listen to the song the story of the video’s creation comes to my mind, the one where her team wants to stop the shooting because of the rain and Gaga says “Are you crazy? It’s free rain!”. And then the imagery of going crazy happy and dancing under the rain for no reason, looking horrible but feeling good...

It’s just special. I guess that’s how many of us who like the video feel.

Amirite @Arturo @corvus albus :giggle:

Why did you tag me? Because I made an entire thread on how boring MR is and I said the video fits the boring vibe of the song :ladyhaha:

In the top 5 maybe. But there's no way it's better than Paparazzi or Bad Romance, or even Poker Face and Yoü and I tbh. MTN fails imo in how self-consciously it's put together. It doesn't transport me into the fantasy, it feels like a high school film school project. That's why it's not a great music video to me. Also, the introductory part and the musical part just... so disjointed, I almost wish she would've just separated them as belonging to different projects.

I'm also really not a fan of that acted "here's a blooper real of my career" finale scene. Like... don't do that if it's not actual real footage tbh. Again another instance of self-conscious creativity.

It's one of her top videos for me!  And an amazing song!

It's a shame Gaga was so overexposed with the GP at the time and that song didn't do a little better on the charts.  Only because Gaga pays it complete dust since then.  It's one of her only singles not to be performed in Vegas too, which I believe is sheer robbery.

Objectively I don't think it's her best, but it's definitely one of my favorites.

Flaws and all, it's so interesting to see a video project with Gaga's full creative direction. It's simultaneously "art student" pretentious, yet also kind of breathtaking. I'm impressed that a pop star would create something of its magnitude- I don't know if many people really saw it that way, at the time.

Up there with Judas, G.U.Y and Bad Romance.
(I'm not a fan of BR but quality-wise gotta admit it's good)

I love Marry The Night and I especially love the editing because it's so unconventional. It really feels like it's exactly how Gaga wanted it to look and how she wanted the narrative to unfold.

But let's not forget how ****ING AMAZING the Perfect Illusion video is. Subliminal messages told through an intense performance, the desert setting, fast-paced editing and thousands of flashing white lights.
