Cocaine Heart 4,768
Well at least she chuckles, I collapse from my chair with laughter when I hear people say that. Criticism of Israel is not antisemitism. We going to boo
River 127,314
The racist law is still racist and I'm ok with her fight against it, because I fight against it but then she starts with "Israel is core of all evil" and this makes me chuckle.. Israel is just another tool of US, Iran, Russia, Saudia Arabia aka the evil forces that destroys the world, a force she's working for and getting paid from. She's part of the democratic party who has a big bloody hands too, it's not a party for her beliefs I guess So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
Morphine Prince 109,645
“I mean just our relationship with the Israeli government and the Israeli state. And so when I see Israel institute laws that recognize it as a Jewish state and does not recognize the other religions that are living in it and we still uphold it as a democracy in the Middle East, I almost chuckle because I know that if, you know, we, we, we, we see that in any other society we would criticize it.” “We would call it out," Omar continued. "We do that to Iran, to any other place that sort of upholds its religion. And I see that now in Saudi Arabia and so I am aggravated truly in those contradictions." I see no lies. It’s pure hypocrisy. When Republicans want Christian oriented laws we call them out for wanting to turn the US to a theocracy. Actual theocracies like Iran get called out for their abuse etc. Making Israel a Jewish state which makes other people second class citizens is comparable. WARNING: I am not saying Israeli Jews shouldn’t be proud of their heritage, it is not an antisemtic attack. What I’m saying is in a Democracy no one should be a second class citizen and no religion or other group should be above others

What I’m saying is in a Democracy no one should be a second class citizen and no religion or other group should be above others I agree with this part of hers but she tweeted “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” and it made me ugh, she sounded like another alt right racist white American with the "jews and Israel controlling the world" bullshit.. As a gay that married to a non Jewish husband, this law puts me as a second class citizen and actually puts me in a situation that my husband may never become a resident in Israel.. we actually did the best not to show to any Israeli office that we are married because they can block his entry to the country.. My friend, she's straight and married to a Christian Serbian guy and few days ago they blocked his entry and put him in jail for a day because he's not Jewish and they are scared that he will "not leave Israel".. stupid. The minister of interior is an lunatic orthodox Jew that was in jail for corruption, so things became pretty bad in the recent years.. it was not like that before.. PoshLife 17,019
Israel as it is today exists in large part because of the Zionist movement that gained steam in the immediate aftermath of WWII and the Holocaust. The desire to have a strong, well-defended Jewish state - and to end the centuries-long diaspora of the Jewish people - was part and parcel with the establishment of Israel. There's never been any question that Israel is a Jewish state. I am Jewish (not Israeli - my family moved to the US before modern Israel was established) and there are plenty of things Israel does that I disagree with - just like I'm an American and there are plenty of things the US government does that I disagree with. Not everybody who criticizes Israel is antisemitic, but MANY anti-semites disguise their more heinous opinions of Jews as criticisms of the Israeli government. So there's a murkiness there that is very intentional on the part of those who wish to do evil against the Jewish people, and it is very difficult for those of us who want to have legitimate debate about Israel to wade through that. I don't know which one of those groups Rep. Omar falls into, but even if she is in the former, she still aids the latter by amplifying their talking points.
