"Is That Alright" Should've Replaced "I Don't Know What Love Is" in ASIB

I think Is That Alright? fits the theme of their wedding more better and the deleted scene is just so beautiful. IDKWLI can be in the credits, idk, but ITA deserved to be in the movie. What do you guys think?

I agree. But I think it also fits the somber mood of the tearful audience at the end because she was singing every broken promise that never got fulfilled because Jack killed himself. It drives the sorrow home so I'm OK with it being the first song in the credits while people are still processing their feelings

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I never thought of this. But, I agree now. Maybe it can be like ARUTW, where it was in the movie and credits.

A lot of people started leaving though :\ And were too caught up in INLA to enjoy ITA.

I think what they should've done is had ITA instead of I Don't Know What Love Is (which literally no one remembers :what:) and it would be such a great wedding song. It would also be one of the massive hits from the movie. :golfclap:

In the ending credits, just the full acoustic ARUTW with the alternative lyrics, "When I'm all choked up and I can't find the words / Dreams of you and me are in the dirt." That would be impactful and would make perfect sense with the ending. And of course a Black Eyes version to drive us home for the very last credits (so, the movie would start and end with Black Eyes - and with Jack).

Yes ITA was really mistreated. If it was given a major slot in the movie it would been at ARTUW/INLA popularity right now. It's one of her all time best songs. I don't know what love is, is boring :green:

I heard this song before watching the movie and people were saying don’t listen without context, it will ruin the experience. But I already imagined it as a perfect wedding song, so I was expecting it during the wedding scenes. It was disappointing they left it for the credits. :noparty:

Agree 100%. I don't know what love is is so forgettable. Is That Alright is my favourite - it was also the teaser on the ASIB instagram that got the most views and responses - 200k views while the others got barely 100k.

By the way, I don't hate IDKWLI, I actually love it, but I feel ITA is way more superior.

Nope :chica:

IDKWLI is the underrated album gem that no one will come to appreciate, ever  For me it was perfect. Having another "here's Ally singing a song" scene would've killed the movie's momentum and made it feel forced. That whole wedding sequence was perfect in that dreamy bliss state that the song and the images evoke. It couldn't be super serious, that would've felt tedious.

The whole point of that part of the movie was to show them as two people furiously in love. Highlighting a lot of separate memories in a fuzzy, beautiful storm is a lot more effective than to let a main character sing a dramatic "I'll die if you leave me" piano-led ballad :rip:

Her love for Jackson shouldn't be expressed so explicitly so early on in their relationship either. The true test of their romance was when he was in rehab and Ally came to see him and comforted him. That was the big scene. Not their wedding.

"i dont know.." is not even close to "is that alright". ITA is THE song that missed to shine.

yeah I think IDKWLI was a weird choice and it fades out awkwardly, ITA works so much better because it just has a much nicer warmer sound and paints the wedding scene as far more memorable

IDKWLI is the song that made me fall in love with someone. So this song is really really special. But even without that IDKWLI > ITA

ITA? is my favorite song on the soundtrack and even on of my favorites from all of Gaga:kara: So I would love that!

Although I do think that the song gave such an impact right after INLA. It’s the moment you think you can stop crying but ITA? makes you cry even more:ladyhaha:

What you want Lady Gaga🥂 What you want with Christina🥂
