They reported the data and analysis. You interpreted that analysis incorrectly and used the incorrect statistic with the incorrect solution. You still have not read the article and it’s just sad that in this day and age, we come to conclusions without comprehending or even looking at the source material. I live in a conservative Bible Belt state in the US, I attended public school, and I currently teach Catholic schoolers. The Holocaust is a huge part of History and English curricula for middle and high schoolers. They all read Diary of Anne Frank, "Night" by Elie Wiesel, The Boy In the Striped Pajamas, etc. Although ultimately I agree that it is vital to show young people this atrocity in a strong light, I am actually greatly surprised by how graphically students learn about the Holocaust, considering how we gloss over the suffering of Native Americans and other groups. The issue with Holocaust deniers does not stem from a problem with education curricula. It stems from a populace which is information-cricital, and skeptical of all education, research, evidence, and experts. We are surrounded by such a wealth of information that many people are choosing to "opt out" and embrace a post-truth society where critical reasoning skills are disregarded. Instead of using information to shape their worldview, they go about it the opposite way: Believe whatever feels right and seek out echo chambers to reinforce and radicalize nascent views. That’s on you You can’t say one thing (“one in three Americans does not believe the Holocaust”) and then later say the opposite. It’s dangerous and borders on intellectual abuse. Reading the news is actually psychological abuse. I presented it to the forum to be debated - rather than reading it directly - as I find real people are more honest than mass media journalists. Well how you quoted it was much different than your intent, I suppose.... Anyway, these holocaust deniers are definitely not the majority and I’m glad the large majority disagree with them.
