Totally thinking back when her manager said some snobby comment about doing vegas residencies

September 2015 interview:

Pauly asked Irving if Xtina would be ready for a Vegas residency anytime soon, a topic that Irving wasn’t willing to entertain for long.

“Not time yet,” Irving responded. “[Christina’s] about to go back on The Voice, about to finish her record, about to do another guest shot on Nashville and the record’s amazing.”

Okay, all good — that is, until Pauly pressed the subject further. He asked if Irving would entirely rule out a Vegas residency for Xtina, to which Irving served this gloriously subtle hint of shade: “No disrespect to Britney [Spears] or to Jennifer Lopez, who is doing one, or to Shania [Twain], who did one, or any of them, but Christina’s not peaked yet. She’s in the prime of her career. We’ll tour the world, but we’re not ready to sit down in Vegas.”

I don't think that's snobby. The fact is that Vegas is looked on as a retirement gig. We all think the same too. Britney was the first relevant act to do it (so yes she made the impact), but unfortunately for her she ended up becoming a nostalgic act and thus reinforced the notion that Vegas is for retirement.

Gaga will be the first act to go to Vegas at her peak and remain a relevant force in music.

Honestly Britney and Xtina should retire from the music industry and find whats suits them at this point of their career. Its not working girl. Just my opinion.

I feel like xtina’s finally found her sound but it’s just pretty niche, like she earned 2 grammy noms this year and both songs weren’t even big hits, so as long as she comes out with prestige-worthy songs, she’ll be fine

as for britney, welllllll, maybe she should become a private dance instructor or smth :flop:

I really think that a Vegas residency would be good for Christina and could be really fun to see.

I think at this point is the only good thing she can do... her touring force is not the strongest...

I'm going to need her to visit Enigma the day I go (which is still TBD) for this performance. :excited:

True, but I'm saying if you really want to go you'll go.

It was snobby cuz christina was no where near the peak of her career when he said it. It made it seem like he was putting her on a pedestal for no reason.

“I'm getting a bunch of my girls together and we're going to Vegas. Check out Gaga's new extravaganza. I'm sure it's going to be so exciting. She always brings a great show,” she says, noting that she will be watching the crowd as much as the action on stage. “[I’ll be looking at] what is a Vegas audience all about? How do they react to the show? I want to feel their energy, see what they react to.”

There's also some speculation that X may be attending Enigma/Jazz & Piano this weekend..She said on Ryan Seacrest that she's seeing something special on "that night" referring to Super Bowl and she can't talk about it yet.

Yes actually Britney did open the doors for Pop artists to have vegas residencies...Jennifer Lopez, Mariah and Gwen Stefani all followed her footsteps

Gaga is making it more accessible for A-List artists to do so... Drake, Cardi B and now Xtina. Now that’s another impact

Good point! Said it better than me

She will begin touring from upstage and making her way all the way to downstage. She will briefly go to stage left, before going to the right wing
