Before we begin, let me just say that this is not a flamebait thread or anything mods. And please be unbiased as possible. Should've won: I think that the biggest snubs were @ The Fame Monster not winning Album of the Year (it got the most acclaim and commercial success out of all the other nominees), @ Born This Way not winning Best Pop Vocal Album (Adele really has undeservedly won multiple awards + 21's all 11 songs are love/break-up songs, meanwhile Born This Way has songs about empowerment, self acceptance, sex, romance, love; 21 can have the AOTY because it was way more successful and had way more acclaim than BTW) and @ Poker Face not winning Record of the Year. Shouldn't have won: Actually she deserved all of her wins, at least for me. If I were to really must make a decision, then it'd probably be Poker Face for Best Dance Recording and give it to Womanizer because Britney has only 1 Grammy and deserves way more. What annoys me is that sure, Adele's 21 is really great but it was both on Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year and won for both. Melodrama was only Album of the Year and could've easily won Pop Vocal Album but they decided to put Ed Sheeran there so he'd win. Dance in the Dark deserved Best Dance Recording instead of Only Girl (in the World) by Rihanna. Born This Way deserved Album of the Year instead of 21. 21 should keep the Pop Vocal Album, even if Born This Way is a unique pop album. The album is such an incredible fusion of genres, it's so well thought and it has so many powerful themes. Truly the album of the century. She did not deserve Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Cheek to Cheek. I understand that it's not completely undeserving, the whole deal about getting someone as old and classic as Tony Bennett and a extravagant pop star like Lady Gaga singing jazz classics was unique and different and for that alone it totally deserves the award. But the album itself is far from what it could have been. The Lady Is a Tramp is a much better duet than any song in that album, the energy is amazing, the album is more of a karaoke singing. I think Nostalgia by Annie Lennox was more deserving (again, by the quality of music alone). Million Reasons deserved Best Pop Solo Performance instead of Shape of You by Ed Sheeran.
