His track record... Is not great. Progressivism is the general direction of the DNC now. And Beto will divide more than Bernie. Bernie might even win over undecided voters who need a strong platform to lean on. “Beto will divide more than Bernie” I have to laugh tbh. I agree to disagree. I’d rather not elect a president that’s going to be over the average US life expectancy (78). I want to elect a president that’s going to actaully be able to serve 8 years. It’s sad but it’s true, I’d love to vote for Bernie, but his time has come and gone, there are plenty more qualified candidates to vote for. At this point, Bernie should be campaigning for other candidates who share the same ideals, not running against them.

And for those wondering, no I wasn't a registered Republican. I was a registered Independent before but in New York it's closed primaries so I couldn't vote in the Democratic primary in 2016. It takes like 9 months for your change in party affiliation request to go through so I didn't make it in time. This sounds like a mess of a voting system (we been knew, but). You have register to the party to then register your vote? As in, you can’t just simply vote for who you want without being registered to a certain party? I agree, but at the same time a lot of politics is basically winning a popularity contest with the public, and Bernie has the name-power that a lot of other potential candidates don't. I can see why he'd run. But yes, it would also be very wise to pass the torch.
