Then clinton who was deemed "not trustworthy" by more than 60% of the people wasn't able to beat Trump who also had around 60% of the people judging him "not trustworthy". On the other hand, Sanders was judged trustworthy by most folks at that time... So yeah he wasn't popular enough among dems voter ( who were long-prepared by liberal medias to get hillary & told sanders was an extremist ) but MAYBE could have been the one stopping trump while clinton wasn't able to do that. This back and forth is only proving a further point of why bernie gertting involved would be bad. He divides the democratic party like no other candidate does. And that would end up giving Trump a second term. I believe that was actually Mrs. Hillary "Unbeatable" Rodham Clinton, but go off...

My problem with him is mainly that he seems to believe he can wave a magic wand and will these progressive policies into being. He'd win and then get nothing accomplished in office. Plans and intentions only matter if you can put them into action. That's why, until I see some change in his head-in-the-clouds demeanor, I'll be supporting a left of center Democrat with pragmatic policies that will help us actually reach the goals Bernie talks about. In other words, I agree with nearly everything he stands for, I just have zero faith in his abilities given the current political environment and how "extreme" some of his ideas are. Matangi 3,050
Bernie is simply the strongest antithesis to the American idea that Trump has created in our country since 2016. The truth is that for the democratic party to strongly win the majority of the nation's votes in 2020 is to create an actual vision to vote FOR. Bernie Sanders has shifted the way that politicians must run their campaigns, the way they now must talk about universal healthcare, tax reform, the environment and a number of other issues that have been overlooked while the party favoured "safe" neoliberal options like Hillary, through corporate money. As for his age, he must choose a strong running mate who could lead him through 8 years were his health to pose an issue.

His voter base now includes more hispanic, black, and young voters than any other current potential nominee and he attracts both democratic voters and the majority of independents which is very rare. The media often likes to imagine that policies like universal health care, or increasing the marginal tax rate are radical or "socialist" when in reality these are supported by the majority of Americans. AOC has quickly become the most popular member of Congress, aside from Pelosi, all in a series of months because she talks about these issues directly. He is currently the most electable politician the democrats could choose.

Honestly out of everyone who's announced so far I'd vote for him. But if Beto runs, sorry Bernie. I think he will have a better chance nationwide. Bernie has a lot of baggage with conservatives and the DNC bots. Don't want a severely divided Democratic base. Progressives will not like Beto. The thing these days is picking apart people's past. His track record... Is not great. Progressivism is the general direction of the DNC now. And Beto will divide more than Bernie. Bernie might even win over undecided voters who need a strong platform to lean on. Check out iTunes data & graphs at CHARTPOP.live
