And to say that Bernie is the best before we even get to hear 20 or so Dems battle it out for the people's vote is a bit premature. Bernie has great ideas, but do they work? Because I've heard good and bad things about his policies that he's tried to get going. I DO think, however, that he's good for the young vote. And that's the demographic that Dems need to get in 2020. And in terms of polling, I agree. He does poll pretty well. I believe I saw him beating Trump in States like Utah and Montana back in 2016, but that was before Bernie even got the chance to go head to head with Trump. Republicans would tear Bernie's policies apart. They'll use the socialism trigger to scare half the country. And we've seen that that type of rhetoric works. I do agree that Bernie is a great candidate. He does have a great track record for standing up for the oppressed. But personally, I just want to see more people get into the race before I rush to conclusions much like how Democrats rushed to vote for Hillary. Obama came out of nowhere and had massive institutional backing. He took millions in private, corporate donations and the establishment got behind him. There's a massive difference. A politician's record and their policy proposals are the most important issues when it comes to voting. His record and his policy proposals are the best of any of the potential nominees. Most of the primaries are political theater. Policy is what really matters. Bernie's completely changed what is considered to be normal over the past four years simply by talking about leftist policy. None of the candidates are taking corporate money. They're all scrambling to back medicare for all. Imagine if he were changing the national consensus from the White House. The "socialist" scare tactics don't work. AOC is popular. Obama was called a socialist relentlessly and he beat McCain and Romney in a landslide. There's nothing wrong with waiting to see who gets into the race and deciding. That's an intelligent thing to do. If someone with a better record and policies jumps in, I'll back them. If not, I'm voting Bernie. Obviously I'll vote for whoever gets the nomination in the general.

Obama in 2008 was a lot different from what Bernie/AOC have been running on. And Republicans hate it even more. And many Dems do too and try to sway away from such policy talk. At this point we just haven't seen someone like Bernie or AOC run for President, so we'll have to see if we get to that point.

When democrats talk about Kamala they say that she’ll be the first black female president. There’s rarely a talk about policies and what she has done.. There’s more focus to the fact that I said the black lady when even African Americans have questioned her heritage. But this shouldn’t be the talk like you mentioned. It should be about how she has a record of locking up young black and Latino men. But will these people really care? They don’t.
