Is Toni Collette as Annie Graham in Hereditary. Say what you want, but she gives the performance of her life and this scene alone should get her an Oscar:

I kinda knew she was gonna get snubbed. There’s no campaign for her literally.

Mirages

It wasn't a snub, if she was barely in running. The only precursor she got a nom at was Critics Choice Awards and nothing else. She was great in the movie, but without proper campaign she's not gonna get nominated and also horror movies rarely do good at awards. Awards are mainly based on the campaign the actor and studio run, of course it can't be a bad performance, but that's how it works.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I guess because it's a horror. Now I'm actually very curious: has any horror movie ever snatched an Oscar?

That J

It's almost impossible to get seen by the Academy for horror. The few times its happened have been rare sadly. Yet I remember when Silence of the Lambs swept the awards!

She was snubbed! A phenomenal actress who gave a very hard multi layered performance in Hereditary. There is no way that role wasnt draining! I think maybe the last 10 minutes may have scared the academy away. Who knows!?

I didnt think for one second she would get nominated tho. But I'm reading alot of articles that's mentioning her this morning.

Lowkey wanted her to win the CC instead of Gaga/Glenn. I haven’t seen the wife but she acted circles around Gaga in that dinner scene alone

Things like this make me wish they awarded Best Scene or something because this was absolutely amazing. Similar with A Star Is Born, the Shallow scene is just a really fantastic couple of minutes in the movie or in The Wife during the husband’s acceptance speech.
