If she performs Ally's songs as Gaga it blends the two. If Academy voters see her as playing a roll so similar to her own life they won't consider her as much as an actress. Just a thought. I'm sure she doesn't even think of them as "her" songs. Perhaps she didn't expect ASIB to become the massive success that it is. We know that she's been thinking about her Vegas residency for a while, and I'm pretty sure at that time she already had an idea of what songs she wanted to sing. So she may include some in the future. She really went FULL jazz so I think the show last night worked fine without those songs. We have to remember that Gaga did not write these songs in the perspective of Gaga--it was the perspective of a character she played in a movie. It will explode when they perform it for the first time EVER! and they should never perform it again! like NEVERRRRRRRRR till she is a certified flop looking for attention ofc.
