BUtterfield 8 41,506
Well, it seems said differences have reached their appex. Because as of today, the singer has been formally removed from the artist section RCA site. The singer had been signed to the Sony Music imprint since 2012 and made a splash into mass consciousness with club jam ‘2 On’ in 2014. Excitement about her potential remained in the years after, but she never quite managed to catch the same wave as her launch. There also seemed to be ample confusion about the type of act she was being positioned as. Taking on an almost chameleon-like approach, she’d slide from Pop girl (‘Superlove,’ ‘Slumber Party,’ ‘Flame’) to mixtape maven, to Trap chanteuse (‘Party Favors,’ ‘No Drama’). https://thatgrapejuice.net/2019/01/tinashe-splits-with-rca-records/
lodylody 1,749
SHE DID IT! SHE DID IT GURLS! So happy for her. She will be able to carve her own lane as an independent artist, and grow her fanbase further. I think this'll be so much better in the long run

This is exactly how i viewed her. I thought she was gonna be major and it just never got there. And then I couldn't decide if I liked her music because it was so vastly different. "2 On" is nostalgic to me because I lived in LA in the summer of 2014 when it was big. I liked "All Hands on Deck" because Iggy was in it. And "Flame" is a pop MASTER PIECE

Without proper marketing and a label to help get her songs played (on at least Rhythmic and Urban Radio) she's not going to be able to get her name out there more. Hate to say it, but this is the beginning of the end for any mainstream success.

And with Ella Mai being the R&B girl right now and being signed to Interscope too, I don't think they would try to introduce someone new to take away from Ella's success

mamo 19,199
I feel so bad for her man - she's honestly got so much talent and has so much charisma compared to these new pop girls but sadly she's overlooked. I honestly don't mind her switching genres (pop, r&b, trap etc), I think it shows her versatility although she needs to make sure both sounds are cohesive and blend well with each other on an LP. I just think she needs to refine her artistic vision/direction and then let her work speak for itself. Ï could be your girlfriend for the weekend... Gimme More 35,400
good luck to her! it's a shame britney didn't really want to promote slumber party which could of potentially helped Tinashe get out there more!

Hate to say it, but this is the beginning of the end for any mainstream success. When she actually has an identity as an artist she will at least become a marketable artist. RCA did nothing to help her, merely complicate her image till the point she didn't have one. In today's age there are a number of artists who are growing fanbases independently (Cupcakke springs to mind). Maybe after creating a cohesive image for herself with a mixtape or body of work that's high quality, commercial but her own style, a better record label could take her on and then grow.
