I don't even know how to reply to this thread, but it's because of us. We're a cruel fanbase.

it's sad but i really do feel like this is why she's fairly distant now, she probably feels like she can't win from seeing negativity (and positivity but that doesn't hurt)

It's much better like this than what she used to do 7 years ago, telling a lot of stuff even a year before they happened. And that's only when they did happen...

The point of hyping us when nothing's coming is to keep us on our toes and keep us from moving on to other artists lol. Nothing works better to improve commercial loyalty than to keep your fans in an eternal "maybe tomorrow something happens!!!" state :ohwell:

I mean, remember when she did this ****:

That was like MONTHS before we got our first real glimpse of anything era-related. It's just to keep the momentum alive and keep the fans guessing.

She was teasing GUY and the ArtRAVE?

Anyway, she’s secretive because she used to just say every project she was working on, and many of her projects never get released. After she realized how disappointed everyone got from unfollowed plans she just took a step back.

I know :chica: But this was in January, after almost two months of almost total social media silence, and it would still take almost three months (once more almost total silence) before that video was released, and the tour of course took longer still.

I'm not saying her hyping never adds up to anything, most of the time it does, but being a fan since 2008, I've just seen the pattern: she'll keep referring to something without really saying anything relevant, just to keep the fans speculating and tuned in, even if that means she won't say anything relevant for months afterwards.

That J

She isnt secretive, she decided to start doing what others do. Where is the art of surprise if everyone knows what's coming? That's no fun. Then when something is scrapped, the fanbase adds that to their list.

You dont see other artists going around saying ok in June I will have this single with this video and then in August I will do this and the next day I'll wear a purple dress while promoting this on this show. Lol

She was on a too much information kick for some years there and she reigned herself in which is much better for her personally!

Because her fans hold a grudge against her for not delivering the things she promised.

I mean it's not like she's stopped making music and movies altogether, she will deliver when it's due to deliver, it's just that there is less hype than before. And she actually still pre-announces her major projects, she hasn't really pulled a Beyonce with a surprise release with anything so far (maybe The Cure). We still get to anticipate.

Well I'm around her age and I'm not posting much on social media like I did when I was in my 20's. I'm not saying that's the reason, but I really think that plus the way fans were acting over the years, why should she communicate with us?

Unfortunately it takes a small group of people to ruin it for everyone. I do miss it however, I wish she would be more connective towards us but I see the reasoning why.

Eh no. It was a glimpse of GUY music video that happened shortly after that.

But wouldn't it make more sense to just confirm things are not coming? So people can just accept it rather than spam her and her team's instagram comments with "LG6????" every day for 3 years lol.

I remember in 2015 her manager made an official statement that pop music wasn't coming until at least 2016. And after DWUW she made a statement saying why the video wasn't coming. Why not just say that about LG6, JWT DVD etc...

I agree she used to overshare about her personal life - IMO she's doing it right with Christian, letting fans know she's happy but not giving us any more than that.

However I think with her work, it really wouldn't hurt to just make some statements now and again about what's coming and when. Social media is such a useful tool.

Like I already said: she didn't say **** after that for two months, and that little "tease" also happened after almost two months of total silence. Basically we didn't know anything and as much as we thought that little hype moment broke the silence, it didn't, that simply was not her purpose, which is makes it relevant for the OP :madge:

I think it's not only us that are ungrateful. It became a thing with social media takin over our lives to become greedy. Other artists suffer from that greed. I think it's important to remember how lucky we are to have access to unlimited music from many artist, people doing stuff and stop complaining to them with our expectations, what we want from them and accept that music is music and not yet the complete interactive experience, visual concept albums, things too complicated...

I think it's a good thread to start thinking about that and become more peaceful people.

hello hello baby.

Because it is bad publicity? I mean speaking about it will cause headlines and attract a lot of attention to something you did not deliver, so it's better to keep silent. Besides, when did she ever promise anything about LG6? When did she announce something that she failed to deliver about LG6? Yes she posted some photoshoots, but she did not ask you to imply anything into them.

And it's not like she's the only one who does this, Katy Perry filmed a DVD of Witness: The Tour in Canada but didn't say a word about it after that.

Edit: This is exactly why she doesn't tell us anything. Even for things that are unannounced, her fans imply that it's coming nevertheless.

She did this for GUY and in my opinion the hype paid off :huntyga: It got a lot of views the first days on YT. She gave us a fantastic music video, wich included 3 songs of ARTPOP. Sure the single flopped but thats another thing... :selena:

I think this is a lot of it too, like Christian seems very chill and private so she is doing the same. He's not an actor like Taylor, he seems like he's more comfortable in private than these star studded events, that's at least what I got out of his body language at the recent awards shows
