Breakdown

The song is kind of underwhelming, but at least the video was pretty. I'll still check the album when it comes out, but I don't really have high expectations.

So starry eyed on the flowery hillside, breathless and fervid amid the dandelions.

I smell a hit, teenagers LOVE songs that use a familiar childhood melody and make it "cool"

I don't think Ari is the first person to make a brag hip hop song based on My Favorite Things, but I always love a bop about a successful woman buying herself stuff :music:

Ari's really capitalizing on the trap lite pop trend. She is by far doing the best version of imitating their accents and flow in an "authentic" sounding way, out of any pop girl. But I miss her great melodies from her past albums. The trap "melodies" are so monotone and boring.

I've taken a few dips in the lady pond

Why Did You Do That is a kitsch masterpiece only people with a high IQ understand.

It's cute, it doesn't sounds like the bop of the year, but Ariana is the only visually interested pop girl left imo.

Pop music is dead. :awkney: Her label is smart to put her 50% of the time into doggy position. :awkney:

What the absolute f*ck is wrong with you?

Mods, WHERE ARE YOU?!

ugh she can't stop slaying. She served visuals. The video kinda made up for the underwhelming chorus. Other than that it's a bop, radio will eat it up and y'all can stay pressed about it.

You guys are so salty omfg :laughga:

The beat

The Sound of Music sample

The overtly-bitchy lyrics

The vocals

The iconic visuals and those LEWKS (the hair moment I gasped)

It's hilarious, because there is so much irony to the backlash. Male rappers constantly release music flaunting their wealth, status, and clout. Yet, when a female does it, she's somehow portrayed as a bitch, stupid, mindless, unoriginal, and generic (and those are words from this thread only). And Lady Gaga can release Cake, and y'all think it's the most clever, fun, iconic **** ever. Please... :usrs:

As someone else said, you guys are really turning into Madonna fans. And the truth is, if Gaga released anything this visually stunning and clever, you'd all shoot your wad over it. You demand the bops Gaga isn't serving, Ari delivers, yet you still slam her. It's just delusion at this point tbh.

ANYWAY, I ****ing love it and am so excited to hear more from her idgaf sassy Thank U, Next era. Sweetener was clearly a departure, and this feels much more in line with her vibe, and the legendary Dangerous Woman.

Perchdt to continue to watch you all fume over her success :vegas:

It's grown on me a little, but without the video it still falls a little flat.

Purr more, hiss less.
