AciidSwine 108
Nothing Breaks Like A Heart seems to be doing decently everywhere but the United States of America. Do you think this is a bad omen for her upcoming solo era in February? Or do you think its a fluke flop? Is it possible for Miley to attain massive success here in the US again or has all of her cultural appropriation controversies and reputation tainted her ability to smash like she did with Bangerz? I personally think with the right look and the right material she can have a #1 song again, but it depends on timing and aesthetics.
Stef 61,645
honestly, this ain't a Miley issue. This is a issue for 75% of the females in pop, we always be hearing "its a hit elsewhere but in America its not doing so hot" Blame the public's attraction to pedophilia, homophobia and misogyny, and mumbling, tbh. True but the occasional pop female slips in a hit every now and then, including Ariana/Dua/etc. Can Miley?
Pop Music 20,540
not since floppier now came out. Malibu was a midtempo bop but the album could have been iconic and she wasted her chance. Maybe if she goes bangerez Miley again (but more poppier and less "vape nation") she can smash. Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!
diamondheartxx 176
I doubt it. People have been harsher on female artists for doing problematic things than they are on male artists, pop or not. It's why Iggy Azalea hasn't been able to replicate her success of 2014, meanwhile Post Malone continues to top charts.
JoanneMonster 9,028
Well here in Spain NBLAH is not a hit like Wrecking Ball but its being played a lot on the radio and its top 9 on the most important radio of the country. I think the issue with the US is that they listen to hip hop and rap A LOT, like all their spotify playlists are full of songs that no one knows about in europe. Its funny how people's popularity change between the US and Europe, I always hear that Taylor Swift is massive in the US but in my country she's less popular than Miley, Selena or Ari I See You
FfFfFfFF 56,287
I think she lost the moment from too early. I think she will continue to have moderate successes from time to time but she won't be on the top of the charts.
A Hybrid 11,049
She’s gonna semi-flop and then star in a movie, and she’ll do good as an actress, making her next era a success. Looking back I think I described Gaga but like, this is honestly my thoughts. No family’s safe when I sashay

Not going to get TOO into it but I have an acquaintance who quite literally works for her team so i've heard where the album is leaning. Its semi-Bangerz esque. The whole Dead Petz type aesthetic both musically and visually is pretty much over forever I think. But I know her chemistry with Mark Ronson started taking over the project so idk where shes at lately honestly. They are SCRAMBLING though, like they need this project to work.
