Glamourpuss 29,062
I didn't think Gaga needed to speak up but I'm proud of her for doing so. The DWUW song has always made me uncomfortable. Seeing her admit that it was a dark time shows to me that the meaning she created about the media wasn't the true one, and when you look at how the video was going to be, it's far too sexually explicit and hints to rape far too much. I think she created the song and video to rub it in her rapist's face that he could take her body but not her soul. I never thought Gaga would address it but her statement is very eloquent and not career damaging thankfully. I am actually glad she is removing it because it is a black stain on her career and her young fans are far too impressionable and I've always found it weird that it was a favourite of the fans. Bt1 5,213
My question is where are the other artists? As a fan, I knew that this is where she stands just looking at her career. But I guess there are a lot of haters on Twitter and here that pretend to be fans.
chromadica 636
I'm so proud of her. Publicly admitting your faults is not easy, especially when the subject is as triggering as this. I love her so much, and I'm happy we can finally move on from this.

That mindset let kelly and many others in this industry get away with terrible, unspeakable things. That’s how he got away with this for a quarter century, thats how these terrible people get away with things- because value of the product is higher than the moral standard of saying no this is not okay. This is a topic that in recent days especially has devided us gaga fans; but she’s denounced it and said it was wrong so let’s all get on that side of it. She’s got literally hundreds of songs we can dance our gay little asses off to, we dont need this one Just wow... Surprised that she’s gonna remove the song, but good for her. Honestly I thought that too. But then I heard the original solo version and saw a whole different side to the song. Adding R Kelly was the death of a beautiful song. I have always said this; it twisted the original meaning of the song as an F you to the industry and the world thinking that they own her, into something more creepy and sinister. I wish that instead of just deleting the song she could replace the one on the ARTPOP album with the Christina version. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Sister 9,907
I am happy that she finally came clean about all of this, we have been pushing it and questioning since it was first found that she worked with him and found the subject matter and title of song chosen, this along with a couple of other sketchy moments all around this time. I will always love her and always remember that she is human and young and bound to mistakes like us all. Still, I am happy that she addressed this and drew a line for herself and us and all others, set an example of goodness and compassion. Not that she isn't usually a fine example of modern compassion, because she certainly is. I am proud to point to her as a role model for younger modern generations. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I think she did what she should. ARTPOP was very aggressive in many ways, people didn't get it. She tried to express many ideas but they were missunderstood. At some point maybe Gaga was lost too. So much confusion, so much pain.
