This is not always true. She has called out specific people.

I also think that after the legal mess with Kesha, she prefers to stay silent so she won't have any other legal problem, he can easily sue her.

From a legal point of view, he has any right to sue someone for damages if they say that he's a sex abuser because the court said otherwise and decided that he's innocent.

Once that show ends, people will move on to the next thing so maybe this will pass sooner than ya think. His charges should stick but needing a response from every last person will fade.

I honestly don't think that Gaga used him for her benefit. I think she's beyond that. I think she was genuinely supportive with him, and of course she wanted to shock people, just that. I explained my opinion in another reply so if you really care (of course not) go and read it. Have a nice day.

You have a point. There might be a lot of other behind the scenes things we don't know about. What if either Interscope or Warner Bros told Gaga to remain silent. They are running a high profile campaign after all. This media coverage is clearly a witch-hunt and they know it.

I did not mean take advantage. You talked about his voice. I meant working with him for his good voice because it's good for your record, ignoring everything bad he's done and supporting them financially.

If she was supportive, well, that's a mistake and she can explain. She can apologize. She's not beyond that. We know her but the GP doesn't. She's spoken out for sexual assault survivors forever and this'll just be one last stain that will fix it. Shock value is great and the meat dress is a good example. Working with a rapist or molester... that's not just shocking. That's shockingly bad or a mistake.

Yes it's also a good point, she's not alone in this campaign and in the R. Kelly problem and we don't know what's going on.

We just need to realize that as long as he's not with handcuffs in front of the judge once again, she can't say a word against him.. to the legal system he's innocent and never did a crime before..

It's too complicated than we think..

She can. She's an independent citizen, not a judge.

Remember what she said about Kavanaugh? That we should believe Dr. Ford and that was genuine--she was slightly angry and felt strongly about it.

She's said the same to Piers Morgan and has talked about why many victims don't report immediately.

of course she can, but he also can sue her, just like she found herself in front of the judge next to Kesha and Katy about a private SMS that she accused Luke for rapping Katy.

She ca have the same thing once again but this time trying to defend herself in front of R.Kelly and this time R. Kelly has a proof that he's innocent - the judge and the jury said that.

I totally understand you. I obviously love Gaga too and that's why I still don't understand why she has to apologize or whatever. I mean, yeah, she's a public figure but she's also a human and an artist. She didn't commit any crime, and if she doesn't want to talk about Kelly, then she should be allowed not to talk about Kelly. That was my original point when I said it wasn't a SIN what she did. Every day I see celebrities apologizing for being themselves, it's insane.

I'm sorry I think this is a targeted attack / smear campaign at this point. Should Gaga apologize/renounce? It would be nice. But the focus on holding her accountable is SO weird to me. People are putting more energy/anger into this than they are at R Kelly himself 

How many other celebrities have collabed with R Kelly? Justin Bieber put out this song around the same time as DWUW. It's also very sexual and kinda gross -

Call me a delusional stan idc people are really obsessed with making Gaga the villain. I'm reeeeally ****ing sick of it. Will Gaga's apology heal all of Robert's victims? Will it convict him and send him to prison? Will it erase the song and all performances from history. NO  What the hell is it going to accomplish besides appeasing people online? Normally I would just say that she should keep out of the drama but I can’t on this occasion. 

I get both sides of the argument, but the fact of the matter is this R Kelly Documentry has been massive, it’s also opened everyone’s eyes up to what he has done. I myself didn’t know the full extent of the damage he has done until I watched the documentry. Gaga has been subject to false allegations in the media (I.e, Lady Gaga is a man) and probably recognised that sometimes the media make up stuff, and tbh yes I know he’s guilty but he was found not guilty and that probably resonated with her and for her to make a statement on this song she put him on because she felt in her heart he was innocent. Like for me when it came out I was obvious, I only knew of a sex tape and that’s about it. 

The documentry has now aired and has been massive and it’s really exposed him for who he is. She is an advocate for sexual assault survivors and has stated time after time she advocates it, yes I understand she doesn’t have to say anything but... she should, she is not being dragged for not saying anything she’s being dragged for being an open advocate and survivor of sexual assault and keeping quiet. Even after the documentry has aired. 

I know she is booming right now, enigma, ASIB, award season and LG6 coming soon and she it won’t tarnish her reputation, but as the so called advocate she is, she really should make a statement even if it’s on the red carpet...

“you know there’s so many great pieces of tv and film which have come out and I just want to say that the r kelly documentry was so eye opening and powerful, it opened my eyes up personally and we all know I did a record with him but that was in the past, I just resllt wanna say that those girls were so brave and strong for taking part and I hope they find love and light and recover from the abuse they suffered.” 

Even if it was just an off the cuff comment like that it would be enough. It’s about recognising and using your star power and advocacy to highlight a mistake you clearly made years ago. I get it she wanted to push boundaries, be iconic and memorable and it worked, but now all this is out in the light and in display for all to see I do think it’s time for her to say something. We’re talking about rape, peadophilia and abuse here, something she feels strongly about, not a petty squabble between two artists and a few harsh words were said. It’s quite serious. 

Long story short, she thought she was making a good move... she didn’t know the full extent of what he did. However now we have this massive exposé on the truth about r kelly, the full extent of who he is has been exposed, she is an advocate and likes to show support for victims of sexual abuse, now that this is all out in the open she should say something... even though she doesn’t have to.

Well maybe she should apologize with everyone but me. Kelly is the alleged criminal, not her. To me she's just an artist who's trying different things, her "mistakes" I can forgive.
