The creators said numerous times the timeline was going to jump and characters and events were going to travel a lot faster because there is no more backstory or reason to draw things out. This is the end. I loved the fast movement of the entire series. The plot holes everyone mentions were not major or series defining. There’s no need to harp on the whole chains issue... a logical answer is “the Night King has soldiers to spare so they jumped down and chained up Viserion, and stayed there...” if y’all rewatch the episode you’ll see the wights aren’t dead in the water, they are very much alive. I personally find season 6 and 7 the best two seasons because the creators were given liberty to take these characters where ever they wanted as long as the ones who GRRM told them make it to the end live, live... some of the dialogue is way to modern for the time, but it’s still astounding. The amount of detail taken into this series is phenomnal, I’m 100% confident that this last season is going to be amazing and heart-breaking. If each episode is like watching a movie (per the HBO Director’s statement) than I have no doubt this ending is going to be the one we deserve. I couldn't have said it better myself there's no point to draw things out anymore, they can't character build until season 8 episode 6. Do you know anything extraordinal about his childhood (I am currently doing a project) (psychological diseases, relationships with parents, etc.). I am doing my uni project. So far, I've managed to find out about his obsession with turtles, castles, his fallen rich house (the Targaryens teas), his sister subtly accusing him of incest and criticizing the Lanisters.
