Usually I’m not a fan of her looks (short hair doesn’t really fit her face imo) but I just saw this one and... :excited2:

Those dreads are... A choice.

New woman of color in town. Linda Perry found quaking. :ladyhaha:

(tis a joke)

I personally love her short hair but I really enjoyed the brief period of her braids, I thought they suited her really well.

The true anti-popstar!

I feel like Halsey doesn't really subvert as much of "popstar" stuff as she gets credit for. She hasn't done too much different and her music isn't that different from other pop music.

Yeah - I'm not entirely certain of the differences. This style however (with tiny braids) is something that's usually characteristic of black people. Hence the joke. :)

This is one of my favourite looks along with the blue wig she had at the show I attended

Delusional. She invented her own genre. She is also a natural (soon to be oscar nominated) actor - have you not seen ASIB? :0

I'm seriously not hating. Can you tell me a few things? Maybe I will change my mind. I just haven't seen any so called "alt-pop" from her, musically or image-wise other than her being "woke" which many pop artists have, forever.

Is Gaga the anti-popstar? In many ways, the unabashedly embodied and indulged in the popstar life except taking things to their extreme. And also subverting them simultaneously. She never saw a need to really brand herself as that. Why Halsey?

Again, not hating on her. Just don't get why it's a big deal that she talks about social issues sometimes and why that "elevates" her like people seem to think.

Edit: oh, were you being sarcastic @Mer Boy :huntyga:

She looks good.

Kind of OT, but I remember a few people criticizing her for wearing Black hairstyles, not realizing she is and identifies as part-Black. Like... the gag.

I LOVED the braids looks. It was like she was serving some early Alicia Keys and I was THERE for it.

Tbh I don't know any Halsey songs apart from closer.
