I feel like if she does it in the future, people will be like "Well why didn't you speak up when you had the chance?" They'll probably do it now but now that the documentary has come out, I think people will be a bit more forgiving. I'm fine with her not being in the actual documentary but just disappointed that she hasn't said a single word about the whole situation. I think it would be really nice to have her finally speak up this year. It’s definitely overdue. I guess I got caught up in thinking when would also be the most convenient time for her and her team to set up a well thought out plan. Gaga can be kind of a mess when she tries to speak from the heart spontaneously and I could easily see her struggling to properly say what she’s thinking. It's not like Chance was around when Kelly first came onto the scene. Chance knew what he was getting himself into. Same with Gaga. I just don't get it. I have an idea: You're trying to make it and make it big (bear in mind Chance hasn't been on the scene long) and so you LEAP at the chance to work with a legend. Maybe he knew some stuff but I doubt he was intimately privy to everything that went on and like he said, he wasn't caring either. The important thing is that he said something and made a statement about it specifically regarding black women and his faults related to that aspect of this case. IMO that trumps a "he knew what he was getting into". He made a mistake and is owning up to it; he isn't saying he didn't know, he's saying that he stayed ignorant about it and that that was wrong. No sense in pushing him lower when he's already on his knees confessing.

But I think timing is important as well. She had a window back in 2015-2016 but chose to keep quiet. Right now is probably the worst time to come forward because anything she says will probably get lost in the whirlwind of Surviving R. Kelly and it won’t seem sincere because of how outspoken she’s been about sexual assault but chose to skip out on the R. Kelly series. I hope she speaks up in at least a couple of years in an appropriate environment like an in depth interview. @Borislshere what are your thoughts? Do we know if she was asked to be in the doc? A lot of artists were asked to contribute including Gaga, Chance the Rapper, and Jay Z because of their collaborations with R, Kelly but they declined. GunninMan 1,406
I’m really curious if she will say something at the globes on Sunday evening. I could definitely see her bringing it up in an acceptance speech, or perhaps in the press interviews after the ceremony, etc. or maybe there will be something more organized. She definitely needs to speak up. I am kind of disappointed in her for not doing so at all by now, especially because of her being a victim herself, and her strong advocation of sexual assault survivors/victims. These things have been known about Kelly for decades. More so even in the RnB/rap community. I'm not trying to push people down, I'm just calling out the bull imo. I'm glad he's speaking out, but really?

After all, he was her manager when she worked with Kelly so there could be something in that legal split that is a factor as well. I’m not going through hoops defending her silence or anything, I’m just a little curious if something like that is keeping things mum because she’s tended to be outspoken about things in the past.
