Cuz gays totally never talk of the LGBT comunity when they just mean gay men right? They could care less about lesbians and trans people like ugh I love being erased all the time by gays and bisexuals :vegas: So now Ellen talks of the LGBT you’re pissed cuz she’s a just a “lesbo”

I said what I said. Besides, gay men indeed could careless but the other groups always want the gay men to get involved when they try to make a cause happen. It's a fact. IDK why either.

Why can’t people just forgive and move on?

Because we would not need the police, the court and such if it is all about forgive and forget.

Just as people who vilify Hart don't speak for every LGBTQ member out there too.

As disgusting and inappropriate as his comments were, as a LGBTQ person of color, I'm not offended by them because those were comments made a decade ago, and they're not representative his character today.

Sis delete this or else I can’t flex how good of a person I am for “rising up to the occasion and calling him out” 😔😔😔

He hasn’t committed a crime though. He said something offensive 10 years ago and apologised for it.

I have one problem with this. Why do they ALWAYS (fcking always) have to bring race and gender into everything? Is that just an American thing?

Because it has to do with everything :awkney: unfortunately this is the world we live in  I’m sorry but I’m so tired of these “ what does RaCE HaVE tO Do WiTH It” comments cuz girl I don’t know if you stepped outside and smelt the air...:lana:

Ellen has done more to positively shift the American public's opinion on homosexuality than any single individual in our country's history.

When Ellen came out she was treated like a sexual deviant, dubbed “Ellen Degenerate." By coming out she committed metaphorical career suicide while receiving actual death and bomb threats. She was disparaged and demonized daily by conservative America, and abandoned by liberal Hollywood. She was the butt of every gay joke, and the scapegoat for our nation's bigotry. And yet, she persevered, and against all odds to become the nation's sweet heart. She is a trailblazer who has made the lives of Queer Americans easier.

Take it from Barack Obama who said, "It's easy to forget now — when we've come so far, where now marriage is equal under the law — just how much courage was required for Ellen to come out on the most public of stages almost 20 years ago, just how important it was not just for the LGBT community, but for all of us to see somebody so full of kindness and light. Somebody we liked so much, somebody who could be our neighbor or our colleague or our sister challenge our own assumptions. Remind us that we have more in common than we realize, push our country in the direction of justice. What an incredible burden it was to bear, to risk your career like that. People don't do that often."

Ellen is a Queer comic who has hosted The Oscars and been the butt of more gay jokes than just about anyone. If anyone is qualified to give an opinion on the Kevin Hart issue it is Ellen. If anyone has earned the benefit of the doubt, and respect, it is Ellen. If there is a "gay pope" it is Ellen ****ing DeGeneres

let’s just say this: the prison population is already a costly endeavour, and adding speech/thought crime into law will flood everything and cost us all-not cute…

…you smell the impact of class, then culture, then background, then education, and keep adding subgroups until you reach the individual person and realize everything impacts everything. After that, realizing you can only truly fight and liberate for yourself-which cancels the whole “we are offended”, “how dare you attack this group.”

@August3 it’s a dumb intersectionality thing, not exclusively American thing. Idk what the point of this thinking is but it’s definitely not of the goal to end bigotry, bc noting out any flaw in thinking is heresy :ohwell:

He's apologized numerous times in the past when the tweets were first brought up. The reason why he didn't apologize initially was because he's already apologized for them years ago.

That’s just not true

Kevin Hart made comments against queer people of colour. The experience of queer POC is EXTREMELY different to that of white people. Y'all will never understand if you're white, just like Ellen. She needs to shut the **** up and so do some of u guys.
