monketsharona 84,146
Just let that thing go honestly. That issue will be back regularly in the future but nothing more will be added. She doesn't need that focus on this, especially in a time she's expected to slay awards ceremonies
Chromatic 12,177
Funny how people pay ARTPOP dust, but just won't leave this in the past.
Brooke Hoegan 1,018
Trying a hashtag to trend on Twitter that reminds people (also haters) that: > Gaga collaborated with a rapist (rapists, also with Terry), > in the awards season, > one year after Me Too movement ? Do you honestly think it's a good idea ? I get you want to be noble about it but all it will do is bring negative attention on Gaga, all everybody would be talking about is that Gaga had a song with him, not that she took this song out of all platforms in a gesture of a goodwill... She cancelled the video with him, apparently deleted the video of the AMA performance, re-recorded the song with Christina Aguilera, never performed this song after the ARTPOP tour. I think she did enough to show it was a bad move to work with him. Don't try to solve problems for her or force solutions on her.

The song isn't about rape. The song is about media constantly writing stories that may not be so true, so Gaga is saying that you can't have her mind or heart, but you can just have her body (hypothetically) to use it in whatever way you like -- to make money. The song is not about sex. Removing the song would just be adding more fuel to the fire. Just let it be. The only ones making a deal about this is the fans that are more worried about Gaga's career than they need be. It's fine. The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
Seeka 12,372
As everyone else has said, this idea is unwise. Erasing the past does more harm than good. Not to mention erasing the past is like something villainous, ya know? Just accept that it happened. And move on. Nothing good is going to come from you raising this dead subject like a SJW necromancer. Remember, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. He's already made big bucks from the song. It's peaked. Interscope would have to wipe it from every streaming service and even then I'm sure there's ways it could still get sold. And now they're doing just that. It's disappearing from everywhere. Even people are getting copyright notices that have pictures up from it on twitter. she/her/hers

"I get you want to be noble about it but all it will do is bring negative attention on Gaga, all everybody would be talking about is that Gaga had a song with him, not that she took this song out of all platforms in a gesture of a goodwill..." I actually feel like I predicted what is going on right now. I don't quite see anybody from outside the fanbase praising her for opening about it just now. But I see threads about media reporting how her fans made her do it, how a tv comedian jokes about her now being ready to work with Spacey, some alt-right dumbass saying she can go to hell and Kelly's attorney saying she's exploiting the situation for her Oscar campaign. I still stand by my word and if she hasn't found the time to apologize and remove it in the last 5 years, now surely wasn't the best time and fans only could mess up her good press by blabbing about it. Hope she'll still get that Oscar nomination...
